1 YEAR LATER

EVELINA WAS PEACFULLY making dinner when she heard knocking on the door. "can you get that, eve?" Dawn called from the bathroom. "On it." She responded, already making her way towards the front door.

Looking through the little peekhole in the door, she saw a teenage looking girl with short dark blue hair and an older guy next to her with blond-ish hair. She opened the door and made eye contact with the guy, his eyes widening about three times when she saw her.

"can i help you?" evelina asked calmly. "oh uh, i think we have the wrong house..." he trailed off. "wait! who are you looking for? maybe i can help." she quickly asked before they had the chance to leave. she knew she recognized that guy from somewhere but she coulnd't put her finger on it.

 "i uh.. i'm looking for a dawn granger? do you know her? i'm an old friend." he answered. " oh that's actually my m-"she was cut off when she felt a hand oh her shoulder. "Who's there, honey..." dawn trailed off when her eyes landed on the blonde boy.  "hi" he said "hi" she answered. 

"Hi" The blue haired girl spoke, trying to break the tension. Evelina giggled as she also spoke up. "Hi!" There was a small awkward silence before the blue haired girl stepped forward and reached out her hand.

 "I'm Rachel" Dawn shook her hand. "dawn" as Rachel stepped back the guy quickly stepped forward and reached his hand out for evelina to shake. "i'm Dick." He spoke. "Your name is dick?" "Yes.." He deadpanned "Interesting... i'm evelina" She answered, quickly shutting up about his name when she saw his face that represented a racoon when they can't find food. Dick looked back up at dawn as they held eyecontact. "Can we talk?"

"You're about four years too late, but sure." dawn gently pulled evelina back as she fully opend the door to let them in. As Rachel walked in she sniffed, pulling a weird face." Am i the only one who smells something burning?" 

there was a small silence where everyone quietly sniffed the air when evelina let out a squeak, making everyone jump. "my egg rolls!" she shouted, quickly racing for the kitchen as Rachel followed her. "Egg rolls?" "Yhea! you want some?" she called back from the kitchen.

RACHEL AND EVELINA were standing on the rooftop, looking at the dove's in the cage when Rachel spoke up. "so you're her daughter?" " adopted, but yhea." Rachel hummed as she looked back at the cage.

they sat in a comforting silence when the door to the roof opend and hank made his way to dick and dawn "Hey, what the hell are you doing here, Dick?" the pair stood up as dawn turned to Hank.

"Hank." "I had a situation" dick said "Nice little reunion you got going on here." he hissed at Dawn." you know it's not like that" Dick spoke up.

"Sure looks like it to me" Hank turned to Dick, his voice slightly raising. "Hank" dawn gestured to the two girls sitting by the birdcage. hank looked back at them with a puzzled look "What the fuck." He exclaimed.

 Evelina stood up and walked over to Hank, giving him a side hug. "Hey kiddo" he mutterd as dawn spoke "Can we just go back inside please" Hank hesitated for a bit before nodding and following dawn, still with his arm around Evelina.

HANK AND EVELINA sat on Hank's bed while he was chugging down a beer. " you sure you should be drinking it that fast?" She commented. "This is how people drink when they want to get rid of their problems kiddo."

"Can i have a sip?" She curiously asked. "Do you have problems?" she hesitated before answering. "yes." although it looked more like a question.

 Hank looked at her weirdly before challenging her. "Oh yhea? like what?" "well uhm...ooh! this morning, i burned my egg rolls." She told him looking up at him with her best puppy eyes. Hank softly laughed at her before handing her the bottle.
