I turned off my engine and glanced at the small, yellow house she was staying in. The neighborhood she was in was only a few blocks over from me. Immediately, my mind went to us taking walks around together and going from my house to hers.

"Dude, you've got this." I said to myself as I walked up the front steps and knocked on the door. A minute passed by before she opened the door. All of my breath left my body as I took her in before me. Her olive skin was tanned and glimmering. She had on white jean shorts with a sage green bikini top. Her curly hair was pulled on top of her head in a messy ponytail with a few curls dangling along her forehead. Her face lit up as our eyes met. I was sucked into the dark, brown pools of her eyes that seemed to sparkle the more I looked at them.

"Let me grab my bag and I'll be ready." She motioned for me to come in and I dumbly followed her realizing that I hadn't even said hello to her.

The interior of the house was spotless and brand new, despite the layout still being old fashioned. I followed her into the kitchen where she shoved several packs of Liquid IV into her beach bag and grabbed a towel.

"Long night last night?" I joked. She blushed heavily, causing me to bite my lip as I looked at her. She was so stunning.

"My friend and I attended a party and things ran late." She explained vaguely as she looked over at me. Her eyes glanced briefly at my lips before back to my face and her blush deepened. "Ready?" She sounded breathless. I nodded and we walked out to my BMW sedan. I opened the door for her and she climbed in. The drive went by quickly due to the music I played and our conversation about her trip to Miami. I learned that she travels a ton and seemingly has been all over the world. The more and more I spoke with her, the more intriguing she became.

"I'll go rent the kayak if you want to wait by the water." I put my hand on the small of her back as I walked behind her to the kiosk. The teenager working there was staring intently at Ella. She quickly turned so her back was facing the boy and walked as close to the water as possible. I frowned, not sure what to make of that odd interaction but pushed the strange thoughts aside as I rented the kayak for us. I handed her a life vest and paddle as we waited for someone else to drag the kayak for us into the water.

We got our life vests on and I helped tighten Ella's life jacket to fit her small frame. The kayak was deployed in the water and I strapped my backpack with our subs into the back compartment. The kayak wobbled as Ella took a shaky step into it before collapsing into the front seat. I pushed the kayak further into the turquoise water before hopping in behind her.

We began paddling severely out of sync as we entered the channel. I explained to her how to paddle and that we will simply go in circles if we don't paddle together. It took a few more strokes before we got into a good rhythm and soon enough we were cruising towards the island. The sun was out in full force shining down on the water causing it to sparkle with each ripple. I kept finding myself glancing at Ella and how radiant she looked with her sun kissed skin and her beautiful curls.

It didn't take us long before we reached the island. There were more people out than I thought. Honeymoon island is one of the few islands where people bring their boats and park along the shoreline to spend the day. There aren't really a ton of tourists that come just because you have to either kayak there or have a boat.

I pulled the kayak up to the grass and we discarded our life jackets within. Ella carried her bag and took a big swig of her water while I strapped my backpack on. I led her to the right explaining that the other side of the island is more empty and secluded. She kept her head down as we walked through groups of people drinking and hanging out. No one looked at us twice.
