Butterflies

I went to see Henry when he needed me something is off with him something is wrong I wish I could fix it but I don't think I can this time. He cried in my arms and it made me tear up I have never seen Henry like this and I just let him because I know he needed to. I wanted to tell him what Tom is doing I wanted to tell him but I can't he is hurting and me piling this on top of him isn't helping. We laid down and I was singing him the Lullaby I we created when we were younger "Sleep little one close your eyes as your dreams fill the night let you worries slip away tomorrow is a brand new day you will grow so big and strong as-" Henry hugged me tight. "Thank you Nova," I smile "Hey I wasn't done singing," he chuckles "I know it was our song after all,". The room goes quiet he gets up climes out his window I follow behind I hope he gets better "Nova" I look at him "Don't leave ok" what is he talking about he is my best friend of course I'm not going anywhere "I won't" we look up at the stars in the sky I lay my head on his shoulder he lays his on mine and that was our night... Days go by and high school is still high school I see Mathew a lot more we started texting more too he is becoming a new friend in my life. Matthew gets nervous when he talks to me he sometimes loses focus on what to say I walked in to lunch and as I was leaving he came to talk to me and of course I kept my cool but he was a little nervous it was cute. "Hey Nova" I look up at him "Hey Matthew" he tries to stay cool deepens his voice a little he is silly. "Sooo you still going to the party" I chuckle "Yea I am" he smirks still trying to make his voice deep " Ok I will see you there" I shrug "Maybe" and start to walk away. I was smiling Matthew was giving me butterflies but why now why am I starting to think of what we can become I can't be doing this right now but it felt good to feel that. I head into class my coach teaches the class he wanted to talk to me before but I was talking to Matthew, one reason on why love can not be an option it becomes a distraction. "Nova" my track coach is a little skinny but he stays in shape so I guess you would say he is fit for the job "Hey Coach" he looks irritated I mean yea I am a little late for class " Listen Nova no distractions this year you have to stay focused, you have a lot going for you and you are the STAR of the team so stay on top of everything do you understand" I understand he is just trying to help but in this moment it was not helpful I have too much going on with Henry and Matthew and My parents and this life I just wish I didn't have to be so perfect. "Yes Coach I Understand" that just means Matthew and me never going to happen the day passes the hour and it's the end of school I have practice tonight so I have to head there before the party. I put on my uniform and start making my way there putting my hair up and to my surprise I see Matthew but in a baseball uniform that is surprising "Hey Matthew" He smiles "Hey Nova".... "I didn't know you play baseball " he smirks "Yea I didn't know you do track" I smile " Yea that just means Im faster than you" he laughs like I was joking "Whatever you say butterfly" he waves "I will talk to you later ok" I node "Ok". I run over to track baseball he looks good in a baseball uniform not that it matters focus nova I just have to focus I ran my laps coach yelling of course and before you know it practice is over I head over to my car to head home I'm driving and I get a text "Hey Butterfly do you really think you can be beat me in a race" I roll my eyes. I pull in and head upstairs Tom is sleeping probably drunk and my mom is coming home late so I head to my room text him back "Yea I know I could I'm just that fast" I don't know what I am going to wear but I was thinking of my white sweater with my peach color dress and my white vans put on my gold earrings and have my hair down. "Hey butterfly what are you wearing" I smile "It's a Surprise"I hear a knock on my window its Henry I go over to open it "Hey loser what are you doing on my roof" he laughs "No reason... trying to come in didn't wanna wake up the ass hole down stairs" I laugh he climbs in my room he is wearing black plants with a grey sweater "I love the casual look" he rolls his eyes as he goes over to lie down on my bed. "Yea your only trying to look good for that boy" I smirk " Ok someone is jealous and no I am looking good for me and I feel good sooo" He smiles "yes you do look nice nova". I hear the door open down stairs "Shit my mom is home just stay upstairs ok and be quiet please I am in a good mood" she yells my name "NNNOOVVAAAA" I walk out my room "Yes mom you ok". She looks tired "were are you going" oh yea I didn't text her "Oh I am going to my friends party today it looks nice right" I smiled but she didn't "No you look like a whore always trying to give your body up its pathetic" tears fill my eyes "Ok mom". Tom gets up and looks me up and down he is disgusting my mom looks at me "Nova just go ok don't get pregnant I don't need another brat in my life" brat I think she is talking about the person next to her " I am not a brat I am your child". I walk upstairs open my door shit I forgot Henry was here "Hey you ok" ok am I ok no I am not but it doesn't matter "Yea I am fine I'm going to change" he gets up "Nova Don't you look Freaking Beautiful ok lets go have fun and forget about them tonight ok". I smile "ok" I head down stairs and head outside Henry is waiting for me outside like he couldn't walk threw the door my mom wasn't paying attention but he took the window I get in the car and we drive to liv's house its big every year and this one had to top it. I didn't get a text from Matthew so he might not be here yet me and Henry walk inside our friend group is at a table playing cup pong Neo is the life of the party winning left and right. I get a text "Hey you there?" its Mathew "yea I am here where are you" "about to walk in awww butterfly you want to see me" I send a rolling eyes emoji "No" the door opens and he is wearing black pants with a black button up I just realized he is growing his curls in and they don't look bad he smiles at me "Hey Butterfly" I smile "Hey stalker". for a moment it was like we were the only ones in this very loud party "You look amazing" I chuckle "yea so do you who are you trying to look good for" he smiles "I could say the same about you" our conversation is cut off from Neo pulling me saying "sorry Matthew we have to get our friend drunk so we are stealing your girlfriend" Matthew chuckles "She is all yours" I roll my eyes but Matthew followed behind I guess to make sure I was ok.... I hope to make sure I was ok. We are playing cup pong and boy do I suck at this game then we start teams Me and Henry are on the same Team Neo and Matthew are on the same team and of course they are winning then I get a text "hey butterfly wanna come With me to get a drink" I node my head we walk out. Henry and Neo still playing liv is in the kitchen flirting with boys the thing about liv is she is amazing and beautiful and her energy Is kind I look at her and she does a small shreak and I roll my eyes shaking my head. Matthew grabs the water and gives me water "Wow stalker this is a way to stay sober" he smiles "yea I am not really a big drinker and I have to just incase you need a ride home or if any of your friends do" I look over at them dancing in the middle of the room "Its amazing how people can be so alive and not have a care in the world and yet still be amazing" Matthew looked at me "Yea it's the true beauty of people they have a way of shining". I grab his arm come on lets go dance and the song that plays is moment for life and the people are screaming there lungs off and so am I but its fun to forget about everything that's wrong with the world and just be an actual teenager. Its 12 am and my friend group is loud and drunk they even decided to play truth or dare it was funny Neo asked Henry if he ever loved someone Henry responds "Yea this girl she is pretty amazing like everything about her is just wow from her smile to her laugh to her name". The friend group tried to get him to say who it was but Henry did not budge live asked Scarlett if she ever skipped school with her crush Scarlett goes into some crazy details about it, and Scarlett asked me if I have ever been in love "Um I don't know how to love it's not really my thing". Henry asked Matthew if he has ever been in love with a stranger he looks over at me "yea I have actually" I smile Neo nuges me "Well ok" we all laugh I realized I do have to head home and Henry is a little drunk so I have to take him with me. We start heading out I tell the group we can hang out tomorrow and the party was fun I bring Henry over to the car Matthew follows behind "Hey butterfly ima head home too" "sheesh just can't stop stalking me can you" he laughs we drive home Henry falls asleep I walk him in the house put him in his bed tell him I will see him tomorrow and goodnight he whispered something but I didn't hear him. I walk out and Matthew is waiting for me he walks me up to my door "I had fun tonight stalker thank you" he gasp "Oh Nova you are extraordinary and you don't know how extraordinary you are tonight was fun because of you so it is you I am thanking" I smile I haven't heard that in forever "Thank You Matthew". We look Up at each other there is this magnet between us like it is like we are meant to.... its nothing I'm just being weird "ima head inside" "yea Of corse butterfly text me before you head to bed " I smile "I will stalker" he laughs as he walks down my steps and into his car "Goodnight my Extraordinary Butterfly" "Goodnight My weird stalker" I head inside he drives off and I head to my bed to lie down Butterflies he really does give me butterflies.
