IT WAS THEIR MESSING ABOUT THAT MADE MISO TUNE OUT WHAT HUENING KAI HAD TO SAY.
Her eyes jumping right over to the group of Greasers that had just walked into the diner that she and Kai were sat in, enjoying their lunch. They were loud as they yelled out their orders, making flirtatious comments to the waitresses as they found their seats at the bar, placing themselves straight across from the two Socs' booth.
A feeling of relief swarmed Miso's chest as she couldn't help but notice the swelling on Sunoo's bruises were beginning to come down and the cuts were now scabbing, showing that they were healing. He also seemed more brighter, unlike the times he hid in one of the others' shadows.
"What're they doing on the North side?" Kai scoffed in annoyance and he put one of the French Fries into his mouth. The two best friends had decided to catch up and go to their favorite diner that Sunday. They hadn't seen one another since the drive-in, which was a few weeks ago and so gossiping about the latest news over a meal was very much needed.
All Miso could do was shrug, shifting in her seat as she sipped her Strawberry Milkshake with Niki's piercing eyes fixed on her.
What was he looking at? What was his problem?
All of a sudden, Kai was cut off abruptly by the wrapping paper from one of the straws being blown onto their table. It was an immature thing to do and Miso rolled her eyes in response.
"What?" Niki mouthed, mockingly to Huening Kai, who was now sending eye daggers his way.
"It seems you've clearly forgotten where the trash is." Kai remarked and threw the rubbish back at the boys. "Last time I checked, this isn't your territory."
Miso's eyes widened as she kicked her best friend underneath the table to get him to stop. She didn't want trouble. All she wanted was to hang out with her best friend in peace. Why couldn't she have that?
Immediately, Jay stood from his stool. His jaw was clenched and if looks could kill, Miso is sure she would no longer have a living best friend. The ex-Soc took a few steps forward — not many, considering their booth wasn't far from the bar — with a threatening look on his face.
However, before Jay had the chance to do anything that could quite possibly get him into trouble, his arm was pulled back by Jungwon.
"Just leave 'em, Jay." He instructed and pushed the boy to sit back down. "They're just a bunch of flakes." Jungwon insulted, making Miso sigh as her eyes travelled from him and back over to Niki like he was a magnet for her eyes.
A wink was sent towards her, along with a smirk and it quickly made Miso scoff and roll her eyes, before she adverted her attention back to Kai as they continued their conversation.

It wasn't long before the pair decided to leave the diner. They'd finished their food and made a plan to head to the drive-in next and catch the midday movie.
Though, as the two stood from the booth and headed for the exit, the Nishimura boy stuck his foot out in the middle of the aisle, catching Kai off guard and making him stumble over his foot.
Miso gasped in shock as she went to step forward and see if her best friend was hurt, yet before she could, Huening Kai was already back to his feet and gripping Niki by his jacket.
"What is your problem, Grease?!" Kai heatedly interrogated — but he'd only wasted his breath, because all Niki did was chuckle and hold his hands up in surrender.
"Let's just leave it, Kai." Miso exclaimed, taking hold of Kai's hand and dragging him out of the diner, leaving the six (Sunoo excluded) laughing Greasers behind.
"Why do you keep bothering them?" Sunoo sighed out, the laughter dyeing down as their attention focused on him. "They ain't done none wrong."
"She's Beomgyu's sister, so I don't like her anyway." Niki declared, taking a sip from his coca-cola. "And she's got a tattoo that he don't know about — so I like teasing her about it and seeing her all panicked."
The youngest's friends let out stifled laughs at his reasoning. It was true. Niki automatically disliked Choi Miso because of her brother, who showed no care towards anyone. He purposely goes around the South side beating up every Greaser in sight, and vandalizing their property. Every South Sider hated the Chois.
"Beomgyu's gonna have to keep an eye on his girls." Lee Heeseung mentioned, a small smirk playing on his lips. "With his broad working at my club, and you giving his sister a tattoo." He explained and instantly, the seven boys couldn't help but laugh at the thought.
The really did despise Beomgyu.
