part 1: use to be perfect

On a bright Monday morning. The breeze blew through my window, i was woken up by my alarm clock, the time read 7:00. I quickly got up had my bath and got dressed. I wore a pink mini skirt and a pink poka dot shirt then a white jean jacket. Putting on my accessories and a light make up. I let my long black hair fall down my back.
Checking myself out on my full length mirror "perfect" i mouthed. Carrying my school bag, i walked downstairs. I had the perfect looks, body, grades, friends, boyfriend, family just name it. You know that girl in high who is so popular and everybody girl wanted to be like her? Yh, I was that girl. My life was amazing.

"What took you so long?" My mom asked as i emerge into the dining area, everyone was already seated
"I have to look perfect mom" i said taking a seat beside my elder brother
"Remind me again why you try so hard to be perfect" my brother said. He also finds a way to piss me up
"Ethan not everyone wants to wear a worn out denim shorts and a t-shirt then look casual" i shot out
"Trying to be so perfect is a complete waste of time".
"Who said i was trying?" Not wanting to continue with the argument, i took a bite from my potato with steak butter sauce. "And beside it's my anniversary with derick" i smiled
"Yeah of course, wasted one year" Ethan said slapping the smile off my face, I felt like exploding.
"Okay, enough you two" my dad interfered.
"Dad! someone has to tell her the truth".
"C'mon Ethan just leave the young lady alone". My dad defended me. He was always supportive.
"She is seventeen for fuck sake! She will be going to college next year"
"Ethan! Language" my mother said finally shutting him up.
"Fine. Y'all should do whatever you want but I'm not going to be part of this madness", he said standing up to leave. My heart was bobbling with joy as he left.
"Thanks dad" i said with a broad smile
"Just be careful"
"Of course". I heard a car horn. "Bella is here!". I stood up with great enthusiasm. I grab my bag and carried my well baked anniversary cake. It had a pink and white decoration. And our couple name was boldly written on it. "Bye dad, bye mom" i waved my parents good bye. I gently walked down the porch.
"Hey B" I said smiling as i got into my bestfriend Bentley corvette 1992. Her parents got it for her on her 16th birthday. To be honest? I was jealous
"Sup girl, that's one hell of a cake" my bestfriend commented.
"I stayed up all night",
"So what does derick has in plan for today", Bella asked as she drove to school.
"Well, after school we are going on a movie date".
"Oh i see", i thought i heard a tone of jealousy
"Then later in the night we'll go to the new park. We're gonna have so much fun". We continued chatting
Fews minutes later we were in front of our school. We walked through the hallway with everyone's gaze locked on me as usual. I got to my locker while sorting out my books for the day, I felt a chill.
"Hey, babe" he whispered into my ears. I turned to face the guy that stole my heart.
He handed a bouquet of roses with a card and a box of chocolate to me.
"Awwn. Babe you shouldn't have", i leaped on him.
"Happy anniversary, babe. The moment you walk into my life, I knew we were meant to be together forever. I will always love you, beth". he said
"Awwn, baby...I'll always love you too", i blushed
"I'm going to make today very special for you",he pinned me against the locker and crashed his lips against mine. I felt on top of the world at that moment.
"I love it when you do stuff like that", i my face was as red as a tomatoe.
"Of course you do...see you later", he pecked my forehead and left.
"Earth to beth", i heard my bestfriend's voice.
"No thanks, I'll rather remain in the heavens", i chuckled.
"Fine...Enjoy it while you still can, because in the next two minutes Mr cyrus will be in class and you know how he gets when it comes to late comers....and yes including you".
"Argh...", I groan closing my locker then we headed to our class.

Classes were over, so i quickly walked to derick's class with our anniversary cake, a group of acapellas and lensman who would video everything single thing. This moment would be priceless, my followers were already commenting and hitting likes, weare sure gonna win homecoming next year.
We got to the entrance of the classroom.
"Get ready", i said as we walked in.
I couldn't believe what my eyes were seeing. The cake slipped out of my hands and fell. My boyfriend and my bestfriend were making out right in front of me.
"Isabella!" I walked towards them as they readjust.
"Oh c'mon betty beth, just tell me you didn't see this coming", Bella said pulling closer to Derick chest.
"You backstabbing, son of a bitch!", i raised my hand to give her a neat slap across her face but my hand was stopped mid air.
"okay...that's enough", Derick was holding my hand.
"Babe?", the statement came out more like a question, it was like the walls were closing in on me.
"I was going to let you know, but damn! you were all over me and i didn't want to break your heart, so now you know" he wrapped his hands around Bella's waist. His statement struck my heart.
"This has been going on for a while now, you would has realised it. if your world wasn't full of fantasy", my so called bestfriend walked out on me while holding my boyfriend?
My eyes were already soaked in tears. I didn't know what i was feeling, no i felt hurt, no hate, no embarrassed, no betrayal, maybe fear but i definitely felt heartbroken, i held my chest, it was like i couldn't breath.
Then i looked up.
"Cut the God damn video!", i pushed the lensman aside as i ran out covering my face
I ran to the restroom still crying as i walked in, i saw a guy.
"What are you doing here?"
"What do you mean? It's the male's toliet",
I took in the appearance of the restroom, it was actually the boys toliet. Why do i care?, i broke down into another round of tears. He just got a roll of toliet paper and placed it on my shaking hands then left, how rude he couldn't even be a gentle man and care to ask why i was crying.
I stayed in the restroom for what felt like hours but i couldn't step out, i took my phone to call my dad but he wasn't picking my calls, same goes to my mom, there was no one else to call, scrolling through my contact i decided to call Ethan.
He picked at the second ring "Hello, Elisabeth?",
"Ethan...could you...come pick me?", my voice staggered.
"Where are you?",
"School....boy's toilet",
"On my way" he hung up.

I woke up the next morning with a banging headache, i checked the time. It was 11:45am, i got out of bed literally dragging myself to the bathroom, i came across my mirror. I couldn't recognise who i was seeing , my face was swallow, my hair was a mess, i was wearing the same clothes as yesterday only that i looked like i was pulled out of purgatory, definitely no school for me today or tomorrow or ever.
My stomach grumble then i realised i haven't eaten anything since yesterday morning. I had my bath got dressed then went downstairs to get something to eat, i was sure no one was at home but on entering the kitchen, i could perceive the aroma which was definitely chicken casserole.
"You're finally awake and just in time", Ethan said dishing a meal for me.
"I'm starved", i said devouring the food.
"Easyyy...i told mom and dad you were down with a fever", i wasn't really paying attention to him.
"Uhmm...this is delicious, thanks",
"You deserve this after what happen to you, Derick is a bastard. You should have called me earlier and i would have broken his head into pieces", i could see the pain in my brother's eyes.
"Thanks for the help and all bro, but it's not derick's fault, it's bella who must has brainwashed him, i should have known, she has always been jealous of me", i took a sip of my orange juice.
"Beth as much i want to agree with you, Derick has been cheating on you and not only with Bella",
"No, my Der bear loves me, we have been together for a year! Twelve months! Ethan why would he cheat on me now?",
"You won't believe me? Fine where was he on your seventeenth birthday?",
"His mom was sick, he had to stay at the hospital", i defended
"That's what he told you? That asshole was at a party with another girl",
"No derick wouldn't lie to me",
"And you think i would lie to you?",
"Okay, fine but why tell me now?",
"Hell...cause you wouldn't have believed me the same way you aren't believing me now...",he snorted "Beth, you are... what should i call it? Because this is definitely not love", he stood up to clear the kitchen.
"But...."
"If you are still bent on continuing this argument, you should look at what the social media has to say", he ended. The social media?
I quickly picked up my phone and opened my IG account, it was the video of yesterday. It had 1.5m views, 900k likes 500k comments in less than twenty four hours? And there were still more coming up, i opened the comment section.

I quit reading the comment and went to my twitter account, it was worse. So was my Tik Tok, Facebook, and Snapchat. If you think i cried yesterday, yesterday's tearswasn't as half as today's.
I went to my room and shut the door, i could hear my brother's voice but i couldn't tell what he was saying, i slid down from the door, folded my legs then began to cry.

My main character: Elisabeth as much as she trys to be perfect, she has her flaws and insecurites. She is emotional and is hated for trying to be the one everyone adores.😕

My main season for writing this book is to reach out to those who are going through difficult times.
I just want to let you know that sometimes in our lives, the days are rainy and cloudy. And it's because of that circumstance that we hope for the sun. As long as there is life we shouldn't give up no matter what.😊
