The world was breaking records one after the other, almost as if it had become desperate, so hearing things like the hottest heatwave in the last ten years or the longest rainy season ever registered in history or other such stupid phraseologies was becoming an everyday occurrence.
If abnormalities kept occurring again and again, they became the norm; the special would be put in line together with the monotonous. So, in that sense, Bakugou wasn't too cautious when he heard about the 'first potentially largest heavy snowfall of the year.'
His mother had been sighing with concern that if the current water shortage kept up, the vegetables would suffer a sudden price jump, the neighborhood's paddy fields would be dried up entirely, and loads of dragonfly naiads would die; the morning assembly would become a snowball fight - those were all of the concrete memories that he had regarding the incoming weather.
That's how it was supposed to be.
"It's snowing like crazy."
Bakugou clicked his tongue in response to the carefree voice he heard coming from diagonally upwards from him. Todoroki Shouto didn't mind Bakugou's attitude too much and kept absentmindedly staring at the other side of the glass window: it wouldn't be an exaggeration to say that a blizzard was in sight there. The sunset had come in early that day. The time of the day that was usually called 'evening' had already become pitch black outside, and the snow fell with vigor.
Bakugou didn't care about heavy snowfall. Since he was living in the dorm, it was easy to walk to school. The school wasn't at a distance that would distress him, and they would have three days off starting tomorrow either way.
Since he was limited on what he could do, Bakugou was planning to train in his bedroom, and he also had to make the report he was supposed to deliver today regarding the short course he had taken one year ago to be able to retake the provisional license.
The transportation system was paralyzed, but apart from that, the blizzard wasn't causing any adverse effects. Save for the fact he was currently stuck alone with that guy, of course.
"I hope there's no power outage."
"You know we have proper emergency power supply facilities here, right?"
"I guess that's true."
When he gave a jerk with his chin and snorted a 'You scared?', Todoroki, who had grown even taller since the previous year, nimbly arched an eyebrow at him. He didn't know if the person in question was aware of it, but it was highly infuriating to see that kind of mannerism in such a well-featured (not to mention sharp) face.
"Scared? Of what?"
It was even more infuriating having to explain that it was dark. Bakugou squared his shoulders and turned around on his heels.
"What are you making?"
He barked a 'Shut up' when Todoroki approached him all matter-of-factly. The empty corridor was dead silent, making its usually tumultuous state seem almost like a lie.
Due to the heavy snowfall warning for that evening, most of the transportation systems had gradually shut down. Because of that, the cooking staff that took turns coming to the dorm wouldn't be able to go, and Aizawa had contacted them to see if they could make something on their own.
