Autumn finally hit Japan as the trees surrounding the school are beginning to lose their greenish glow. And as the weather gets chillier, several weeks have passed since that one late afternoon confession with a certain angry pomeranian, and everything has remained the same.
Well almost.
Since then I've been avoiding him in any way I can, and that often avoiding his squad of friends as well when he's nearby. Each of them who were present that day have talked to me in one way or another, expressing their apologies of what happened and easily forgave them.
But after that eventful afternoon, the ash blonde gradually began acting a bit more strangely than usual. Often catching his stares at my direction in school and in dorms that had me bewildered by his peculiar change of behavior. Even finding him close to me at times without fully realizing it at first. The way he brushes his arm lightly to mine that one Friday evening, clearly invading my personal space as he walks casually pass by. That had me looking back at him with a raised brow.
Who knew he could be so... gentle?
Did my confession rattled him that hard? Given his attractive looks, I thought those things happen often to him.
But I quickly disregard any kind of hopeful thoughts knowing full well I've been rejected. Focusing more on my studies of becoming a hero.
Then one afternoon arrived, when I felt bad enough for repeatedly declining Jiro's offers to join lunch with her with Bakugo's group, despite understanding my situation. When I later both told Jiro and Momo of what happened. Leading to a tearful heartfelt talk as they slept over to my room that night.
So I finally accepted this time around, since it's been so long already and I couldn't avoid him forever.
Mina waved at us ecstatically as we approached their table. Just the two of us this time around since Momo wanted to join Midoriya's group. Probably wanted to eat lunch with the dual tone hair male that we suspected she developed a recent crush on.
"Hey y/n you're eating lunch with us today?" Kaminari spoke up first.
"Yep, I hope you guys don't mind." I said, chuckling nervously. While a particular ash blonde stood frigidly still the second he heard my voice from behind.
"Not at all. Glad to have you back y/n" Kirishima grinned.
Having only one spot left on the table, I had no option but to sit in front of Bakugo as my earphone music loving friend sat beside her boyfriend.
Not much of a conversationalist, I mostly listen to what group is talking about which I always find entertaining. As they talk about the most random and weirdest things that often leads to funny debates until Bakugo has enough and silences them.
Definitely a different feel compared to Ochako's group that I often eat lunch with now, because of the recent newfound friendship with the brunette female.
"Hey y/n I've been meaning to tell you something later but since you're here..." The pink skin female said, as she smiled not so innocently at me that caused the group to quiet down.
"I have a friend who's planning a mixer and we're one girl short. Do you want to join?"
A/N: I feel the need to explain what a mixer is to those who don't know. From what I briefly read online, is technically a blind group date for highschool/college japanese students. The term shows up a lot in tons of shoujo manga.
