Surprise for the unexpected offer, everyone except Bakugo stare at me waiting for my answer. Feeling slightly uncomfortable for the sudden attention.

But then again joining a mixer wouldn't be so bad. After all I'm very much single and in such a perfect age to enter the dating scene.

I cleared my throat, "Who will be there?" I asked curiously.

As if she hit the jackpot, Mina grinned widely, almost Cheshire-like. "Oh it's a bit of a special case. If you remember Camie she's hosting the entire thing. Other than me on the girls side Hagakure is joining as well. As for the boys though all of them attend Shiketsu and know almost nothing about them except one. Remember the Shindo guy during provincial exam?"

A/N: I realize he's a second year and the same goes with Camie, so let's pretend they're both the same year as them. Alright? Okie~👌😜

My mind flashback of a black haired male that had similar yet more mature features than Midoriya. "He's the one who can create tremors underground right?" I asked

Mina nodded.

"Wait..." Kaminari interrupted, "Doesn't that school have a strict no dating policy?"

Mina places a finger on her mouth and wink at us. "Yes but Camie said that no one really follows that rule there. As long as we don't tell anyone out of this circle we won't get in trouble." She said the last part was almost a warning. Directly mostly the rest of the boys of the group as they all nod in agreement and the ash blonde let out a tch, not commenting any further.

"So are you in?" Mina looked eagerly at me, smiling.

Feeling a bit more hesitant for the new found information. I bit my lip unconsciously, pondering about it some more. Not really wanting to get in some kind of trouble, my mind instantly wants to say no. But as I take a quick glance at the ash blonde in front of me as he casually eats his lunch, expression unreadable as always and unaffected of what's going on. I've been reminded again that very afternoon that broke my heart into pieces.

Why not live a little? Finally making up my mind.

I look up to a grinning Mina and nod. "Sure, text me the details later."

Unbeknownst to me a certain ash blonde gripped tightly of his chopsticks, glaring silent murders to his poorly nearly finished food. The wooden utensil showed early signs of cracking as the group went back to its usual chatters. Until the angry pomeranian couldn't take it anymore and abruptly stood up, catching everyone's attention.

He left the cafeteria without a word while the rest of the group exchanged confused looks. Not long after, Kirishima packed up his things and left as well.

"I'll go ahead and make sure he's alright. I'll see you guys after lunch!" He said and waved at us leaving the cafeteria.

I stare at Jiro who shrugs not understanding what's going on either. The rest of the lunch period the group remained quiet.

As I walked along the UA hallways with the group I ate lunch with, there was a moment I heard loud muffled voices coming out the open classroom up ahead. And once we entered the class it was empty with only two students inside. Whatever they were talking about was disrupted the moment they heard us approaching.

Bakugo sat on his seat while Kirishima took a vacant seat next to him, looking even more upset than usual as his hands were on his already messed up spiky hair. Grabbing a fistful of it out of frustration as he rested his muscular arms on the table nearly sulking. But that stopped the moment he saw me.

I normally never get the receiving end of an icy glare by the ash blonde but today is my lucky day I guess. As he tch and lean back to his seat, hands in his pockets as he places one foot into the table. "What? The fuck you looking at angel face?" He spat.

My eyes went wide with the sudden new nickname and looked away, trying to fight off the blush that's forming on my cheeks. "Nothing," I said quietly as I passed by him trying to get to my seat.

But then he grabbed my arm.

My heart raced as I stared at him again. Finding it hard to read his expression in my peripheral vision, since his bangs cover the upper half of his face. His mouth raised as if about to say something, patiently waiting to hear his words that may give me hope that maybe... I wasn't seeing things these past several weeks.

But no words came out of his mouth as he closed it again, gritting his teeth. Having enough with the mix signals, an unknown burst of courage surge within me that I never knew I had.

"Bakugo, do you like me?" I spoke softly

He said nothing again. But felt his hold in my arm tighten and slightly tremble for a second until it softens again. Almost confirming my answer.

"If not, please don't raise my hopes up"

Several footsteps can be heard in the distance, awfully reminding myself that we're not the only ones in the room. He let go of my arm as I hurriedly walked back to my seat. Avoiding the looks of my friends that witnessed the entire scene from before, and buried my head to the table with my arms.

Wanting so much for this day to be over.

A/N: Who's willing to bet that Aizawa was also there the entire time and heard everything? 👀
