"I.. I don't understand.." He said, his voice a shaky mutter from his hands, trembling in full agony.
He didn't lift his head. He never wanted to again. "Why would she do that?.."
Ray was sitting infront of him, and was also a bit sad. Sure, he hadn't known Blaze.. But surely, she was a nice girl, and the two bonded well, Silver and Blaze, and Ray didn't like seeing people sad.
"H--Hey.." Ray said, his voice a bit off, too.
His head remained in his hands, the aura-lined parts of him glowing brighter. "What..."
"Uh.." Ray looked around for what to say, and among seeing the lava near their position, he realized something. "S--Silver. Wouldn't Blaze want you to keep going for her?.. A--And that monster! She m--might want that gone!"
Ray smiled a bit at his own words, as Silver lifted his head a little higher.
"She might come back when you defeat it, d--don't you think?"
Silver though about Ray's lecture for a moment, unsure what to say. He lowered his hands to his side, and looked Ray in his sapphire eyes with his own ember eyes, smiling a bit.
"That wasn't the best speach, but thanks. It'll do, and I have motivation over naïvety."
"Good." Ray's signature grin showed up, and he grabbed Silver once more. "Hold on tight, fair warning this time!"
Silver yelled a bit, as they fell faster than the first time, and pulled up harder than the first.
".. That still almost killed me.."
Silver muttered, as Ray laughed and investigated.
"Well, I'm sorry if you don't feel what's called, 'ADRENALINE'."
Ray was joking, but Silver smiled.
"Sure I don't, Ray. Suuure."
"H--Hey.." Ray said, lowering slowly by a damaged, but stable looking building.
He looked up at the sky, then back at Silver. "It's.. It's getting dark. I know, the lava lights up the night.. But we need rest."
Silver nodded, and guided Ray into the building. They sat down in a quiet, harmless corner.
After a few minutes, Ray was sound asleep. But Silver lay awake.
Ray had fallen asleep on Silver's chest, mainly for the soft Chestfur of his. In the same return, Ray wrapped his warm tail around Silver, blocking him from hitting his back against the wall.
Silver just sit there. He stared at the faded moon through the broken wall ahead, and the smoke, blurring the view. It.. It wasn't full. It looked as if it was the waxing cresent Moon. He couldn't tell for sure, but it was a close guess.
"I wish you were here.."
He muttered hopelessly, holding a heart-shaped locket in his hands. It had, "S ❤ B" engraved cursively onto it's front. He put it around his neck properly, hanging and hiding the heart in the top brush of his fur.
"I'll be waiting.." He said daringly, as if his nemesis could hear him. See him.
The night began to become a morning, and a shady figure apeared discreetly, violently, swiftly, and threateningly into the building through the open crack the two boys had walked through. Silver hadn't gotten any sleep, and he slowly let Ray lay down on the floor for a bit, as he stood up infront, guarding the sleeping squirrel.
"Who are you?!"
He proclaimed as a bold voice, leastly like a yell.
The stranger kneeled, and he could see that clearly. It kneeled at a comforting distance. A bit further than that, but that was fine.
"I have been sent to accompany you."
The fearless, feminine voice said, leaning her head lower.
"What?" Silver wondered. Who could've even been alive? Let alone, sent from someone and being someone so mannerful and loyal...
Just.. Who?
"Who were you sent by?"
Silver continued to question. He needed as many answers as he could get.
"My master."
The figure said. She was too formal to be around here. Nobody had too many existing masters anymore, which was a shame.
"My appologies," She said, standing up again, still a shaded figure in the light.
"I haven't introduced myself."
She nodded to herself, then curtsied low.
"My name is ... "
