My phone pinged with another message and I brought the device to my face too see what Jazmine had to say.
Jaz: Let's do it! You owe me hella explanations anyways. Your treat <3
I'd offered for us to have a spa day. She complained about her nails and it reminded me I could use a new set as well. I was slightly excited to be honest because I was happy to finally tell her everything that had been going on in my life. The last few weeks seemed to have moved at the speed of light and I myself needed time to digest everything.
"Where did you say we were going?" I pocketed my phone after replying to Jazmine and instead turned my attention to Niccolò.
"Nowhere special. We'll be there soon so be patient." I huffed a breath staring out the window to try and get a clue. Nothing seemed familiar or out of place.
Niccolò grabbed my attention when he slipped his hand not on the wheel across my thigh, "let me hold your hand." His fingers closed around mine once I slipped my hand in his and I enjoy the feeling for the remainder of the ride.
We get to our destination and I'm a bit too happy once we go in and I see what it is. A gun range.
It felt good that for once there was something Niccolò seemed to not know about me. The fact that I knew how to handle guns. It was not that I wanted one or even liked them, but I definitely knew how to work the weapon.
I walked quietly behind him, taking in how every person in the building showed some form of respectful greeting to him.
"I want you to get familiar with a gun. Just so I'm comfortable if I'm not around, yeah?"
I nodded when he looked down at me, not letting it show that I was already quite familiar.
We get into our lane, though the entire room seemed to be for us and I watched as he moved around before coming and putting goggles and ear protection on me and I had to stifle my smile. I watched intently as he showed the classic Glock 19 and went over all safety measures I needed to know.
"You listening baby?"
It was hard to fight my smile, "I'm listening." We go over stance and proper holding technique and I really start to pay attention when he says something new. It's hard to ignore how attractive he is as a teacher.
He stepped back after his speech and gave me a nod standing just a few feet behind me. "Remember, don't be scared, just relax. It shouldn't be too-"
I'd given him enough of my time. I couldn't hide my grin before I brought my gaze to the target, holding the gun comfortably, before tilting my head a bit to empty the clip into the target sheet.
The look on his face was somewhere between pleasant surprise and something more. It was something that shocked a lot of people. I wasn't some assassin, I just went to the range a lot with my dad when I was younger and learned how to shoot, clean and care for a gun. It was a me in my former life before everything changed.
"Beginners luck?" My words made him smirk and he shook his head slightly before coming over to me.
He pulled the equipment off my head, dipping to kiss me in the process, "you continue to surprise me Rosa."
I let him get his fill before I pulled back with a giggle, "all good things I hope."
The target is whirred up and the bullets going through the head and chest area are shown closer. Niccolò scoffs as if genuinely surprised before bringing his lips back to mine. "All good things."
___________
I'm still unsure of how we ended up where we were. Niccolò peeled my jacket from my shoulders throwing the leather in a corner, and leaving me in my crop top.
