Prom. It was all the rage right now, everyone's scrambling to find dates and find the right dress or suit. I hated dances, I never found them fun or romantic. But to be fair no one has ever wanted to go with me either.

I quickly got up from my desk as the dismissal bell rang, telling all the teachers and students school is done for today. I pack my things into the backpack as quick as possible but got interrupted when a hand with bruised knuckles grabbed my textbook, stopping me from putting it in my bag.

I look up to be met with a pair of blue eyes and I immediately recognize who they belong to, "Vance?" I ask him, but he doesn't respond he doesn't seem to even be affected by my question. He looks as almost as if he's deep thought. He puts my textbook down, slowly so very slowly while making sure his gaze never falters off of me.

"Y/n," he says in a very strange almost soft way. In response to him calling my name I nod, smiling softly, "Yeah? What's up?" Vance's gaze now falters from me to anything but me, he's seems almost shy? He cuts the silence by speaking softly to me, "I know this is so corny but will you maybe do me the honour of being my date to prom?"

Wait.
What?

I couldn't help but let out a little laugh, this is some weird joke. "I'm not falling for your tricks, Vance," I look him in the eyes as his eyes widen and he quickly speaks up, "No- no! I promise this isn't a trick! I actually think your uhm.. really pretty?" It's clear he actually means it and a slight blush forms on my face. Isn't this the big bad bully of the school?

I mean it wouldn't hurt to try, maybe this prom thing isn't so bad after all? "Sure yes yeah yes, I'll be your date to the prom," I smile softly at him as he lips form a big wide grin after hearing my response. "Oh man! Okay! Yeah! I'll be at your house at uhm.. seven?" I smile and nod, "Sure, sounds good."

A ring of the my house's doorbell announces the arrival of Vance, but I didn't bother to go to the front door and get it since i'm finishing up getting ready. My parents got it for me and I could tell because I heard my mom cheerily greet the blondie. I sigh nervously as I take one last look in the mirror, my dress was something else, I saw it in the window of a shop and had to have it. I slowly open my bedroom door and head towards the stairs, everyone must've heard me walking since it got dead silent.

I descend down the stairs slowly, nervous to see Vance but once I saw him and he saw me I felt my face flush up. There, in my living room, he stood holding a singular red rose and wearing a fitted black suit. Once he saw me his eyes widened and he smiled like a mad man, but the one thing I didn't know is that he felt his heart flutter and butterflies fly in his stomach. He didn't say anything for a few seconds, maybe minutes? I was too focused on him to care.

Slowly, he stepped towards me, until he was in reach of my hands. He gently took my arm and gently put the corsage on my wrist, it matched my dress perfectly. I smile softly but blush as he raises one of my soft hands using one of his rough, bruised hands to his mouth and gently kisses my knuckles, staring directly into my eyes as he whispers, "You are so beautiful."
