Captured

"RUN!!!!!"
I hear screaming all around me. Women are running for their lives. But I know it's too late. They found us. We had been hiding for years and they finally found us. I jumped over the bodies of several women who chose to die rather than be captured. Others stayed to fight, but that was useless when they brought the dogs and those assholes with wings. One man stood in the center of our town black wings spread out, blond hair cut military short, and gun in hand. I didn't need to see anything but that gun. I ran out of my hiding spot. As soon as I moved I could hear the air pumping behind me. Shit shit shit he had seen me. I would not be taken. Not today.

"You can't escape love."

Bullshit. I kept running from the winged man behind me and ignored him when he tried to discourage me. There was no way in hell I would be captured. Not today. Not ever. I ran into a part of the forest that was filled with vines. There was an escape hatch there. I'm so close. As I got into the vines I slowed down trying to stay quiet. I knew he couldn't fly here so he would be sending dogs in for me. Luckily the escape hatch was underwater. No scent trace for those mutts to use. The vines next to me moved and I saw a flash of black. The stupid winged man had followed me in here. I smiled one less assholes to deal with. I pulled an iron dagger out of my boot and listened to my surroundings. A branch snapped to my left and I threw the knife.

"F@ck!" The mam yelled and I knew I had hit home

But he wasn't dead and now he was pissed. Pissed, but injured. I ran through the vines as fast as I could without making any noise.

"I'm going to find you. And when I do you're gonna be MINE!" The man roared behind me

I could hear him racing after me and I dove into the swamp water that the forest turned into. I swam with my eyes closed feeling the bottom for the entrance to the cave. A sinkhole had collapsed here making a cave that was half in water and half out. It led to an escape hatch. Just as I found the entrance someone grabbed my foot and I was pulled out of the water.

"Gotcha." The winged man growled

I turned to face him and attacked. His wings opened and I could see where I had hit him with my knife.

"F@ck you!" I screamed and went for the weak spot on his wing

He moved so fast I didn't even blink before he had my throat in his hands. He pulled me against him and surrounded me in his wings. His blue eyes shined with excitement.

"Oh you will." He whispered

My vision went red and I kicked him in his nether region. He went down and his hold on my neck loosened enough that I could get away. I dove into the swamp cave and swam towards the top until I could breathe. I crawled onto the shore of the cave and started coughing. The bastard has nearly crushed my windpipe. I could hear his roar from inside the cave and I pulled myself into a dark corner. I was soaked in mud and water from head to toe but that would only hide my scent and camouflage me better.

I heard knocking from inside the cave and suddenly everything exploded. I felt myself flying through the air before something hit me on the head hard enough to daze me. Dust filled my lungs and I coughed. Footsteps came closer and I struggled to get away.

"Nice try honey." Someone said

I turned to face the voice and saw the winged man standing right next to me. He leaned over and pushed me onto my back. I struggled to pull myself away from him, but he grabbed my hair and pulled me up to him.

"Now you're mine." He growled

I stared at him still struggling to breath. His eyes were triumphant and I spit on him. His grip on my hair tightened painfully.

"Never." I hissed

He smiled and pulled my hair down exposing my neck. I felt the cold touch of iron encircle my throat ant heard the snap of the metal. My heart sank. I had been collared. It was over for me. I was captured. Stars dotted my vision and the world went black. I hope I never wake up.
