We entered Sorin's dining room. It was a room that even I had to admit was beautiful. It faced the forest outside the city and the walls were completely made from glass. Chandeliers hung from the ceiling lit only by candles. The dining table was a large dark oak and plates of every food imaginable covered every inch of it. My stomach growled. We were seated and instructed to wait for Sorin to arrive. We each sat on a side next to the head of the table facing away from the view. Tess sat patiently, but I hadn't had solid food in forever. I was just about to sneak a bread roll when the doors opened. Sorin came in looking tired. Footsteps followed him and he gave the guards a look. The doors slammed shut on whoever had been trying to catch up to him. He sighed and ran his hand through his hair. He looked at us and smiled his eyes flashing gold. It felt like he was taunting me by taking his time to his seat. I itched to just grab food without him, but I didn't want to risk being sent out without food. When he finally sat servers came out offering us different wines and plates. I took only a glass of water as well as every type of food they offered me. I was starving. We ate in silence for several minutes before there was a knock on the door. Sorin sighed and motioned for the door to open, but there was a glimmer in his eyes as he did so. A gorgeous woman with dark hair, eyes, and skin walked in. She wore a bright green dress and looked like she belonged on an island.
"What is it Maya?" Sorin said
"I need Tess there has been an injury on the field." She stated
Sorin nodded and Tess gave me an apologetic smile combined with a knowing glint in her eye. She knew Sorin was up to something too. Tess followed Maya outside and I was left alone with Sorin. Well the guards were here too, but I didn't count them. He cleared his throat and stood up. I tensed and watched him move towards me. He pulled my hair to the side and leaned towards me. It took every ounce of control I had not to slam his smirking face into the table. But, I had a plan to execute. I needed him to start trusting I was submissive to him.
"I like your hair long." He said in my ear
I smiled sweetly at him, "I like the distance between us long."
He chuckled and ran his hand down the shoulder that he had marked me on. The mark heated up under his touch and I forced myself not to break that hand.
"You're behaving well." He stated
"And you're invading my personal space." I retorted
He started laughing again, "You still have that sharp mouth though. Don't you know that you have no personal space you are mine and therefore you have no space."
I swallowed a growl and smiled sweetly at him, "Would you kindly take your f#cking hands off me?"
He pulled my chair away from the table and turned it to face him. He grabbed my chin and pulled it up to look at him. His eyes were glowing like gold and his smile was teasing.
"No." He said
I swallowed not liking where this was going. I wasn't sure if I wanted to toss him out the window and off a cliff or throw up. Maybe both.
"Excuse me?" I replied
He pulled me off the chair and brought me too close for comfort. I tried to push away, but he kept me put and I didn't want to use my strength. He couldn't know that his collar didn't work very well on me. Sorin's eyes were blazing and I swallowed. I didn't expect to be this close to him.
"No." He said again
I opened my mouth to reply, but his lips crashed onto mine. I pushed against him, but he held me still. His tongue traced my lower lip and I wanted to dry heave, but I had to work this to my advantage. Submissive, but still independent, that's what he had to belive. So I let him kiss me and I awkwardly tried to kiss him back. His lips were soft and his breath tasted like mint. I allowed myslef to relax in his grip and I felt him smile. He deepened the kiss and I bit his tongue. He pulled away so fast I almost dripped to the ground. He wiped his mouth and blood stained his hand. I smiled back at him and he glared.
"What the f#ck did you do that for?" He yelled
I could hear the guards muffle laughs and Sorin threw them a look cold enough to freeze a desert. They coughed and looked away. I walked up to him smiling and stroked down his chest. His eyes started glowing again.
"Because you invaded my personal space and I said no." I said
He grabbed the hand I had on his chest and kissed the inside of my wrist.
"One day you'll say yes." He said
I could almost see the beast behind his eyes. It stared back at me with hunger. I ripped my wrist away and a low growl rumbled from his chest.
"Not likely." I taunted and walked out of the dining hall and suprisingly he let me
