It was 7 am when my alarm went off for the fourth time. I've been snoozing it for atleast the past half an hour. I didn't have the best sleep last night as i was thinking about dad. I tried to get him out of  my head but i couldn't. His precense at the mall got me really puzzled.

"Get up Lora, we're gonna be late!"

"What.."  i murmured in a low voice.

"Lora wake up! It's the first day of school remember."

"Is it Monday already?" I sighed

"Yes and if you didn't get ready in 15 minutes, we will miss the bus."

"Ok Sam...go away."

I then went back to bed but i felt cold water streaming down my face.

"What the hell Sam???" I yelled angrily.

"This better wake you up. Now go change, breakfast is ready."

I blew a heavy sigh and stared at the posters on my wall. I felt so tired that I couldn't hold myself up. I tilted my head to check the time and i gaped at the clock. 7:15! Oh my god we have no hope of catching the bus !

I dashed to the closet and picked up some washed out jeans and a black and white stripped shirt. There was no time to brush my hair so i put a beanie on and a bit of makeup to cover my tiredness. I then grabbed a sandwich from the counter and picked up my bag.

"Finally!" Sam sighed.

We then left the house hoping that we hadn't missed the bus. Luckily we caught it seconds before it left. It was a bit packed other than the front seats so we grabbed them and sighed at once.

The school wasn't as i imagined it at all. It wasn't that big and the hallways were very crowded. The building was hectic and pretty old.

"How's this a  good environment for learning?!" I spoke under my breath.

Apparently, Sam heard what i said and he laughed and teased : "Well you don't sound like the ever so confident Lora. What happend sis?"

"Don't act like you're not nervous Sam. In addition,I'm just amazed at how people can study here. This place looks like a total mess."

Well to be fair, i was kind of scared. Which, don't get me wrong, was because it's a new school and probably a new life. Furthermore, my emotional chaos   wasn't helping much. In fact, it wasn't helping at all.

When we were strolling down the hallway, I bumped into a guy who was pretty tall. He had some nerdy glasses on and he was wearing a sweater and some black jeans.

"Liam!" Sam said rather happily with a sigh of relief.

"Oh Sam it's very weird to see you here." Liam said with a confused yet delighted look on his face.

"I moved out with mom and my sister lately  because... em ... because of some family problems." He rubbed the back of his neck nervously.

"Wow man it's just so nice to see you again. I haven't been making that many friends you know." He said while starring at his feet.

"Dayum these shoes are nice! I bet he's loaded." I spoke to myself a little bit louder than i should have. I slammed my hand over my mouth when I realized that. Luckily, they were carried on with their conversation they even forgot about me. I was just standing there doing nothing like a table's leg.

[A/N credits to my friend who says this all the time.]

I cleared my throat to let them know i do exist. They both turned their heads to face me as they gave me apologetic smiles.
