A/N: Sorry the title is a huge spoiler just ignore that! This one's a little dark, just warning y'all!

Sophie hadn't expected to handle the news well.

But life was always throwing setbacks at her, and the ability restrictor was a smart move by the Neverseen.

Unfortunately, that also meant that Sandor would be at her side all day every day, never letting her out of his sight.

So when she had time to be with Keefe, when Sandor finally decided that interrupting their time was crossing a line, she was eternally grateful.

"So Fitz broke into Dex's house, stunned Rex, stole Dex's notebook, and is planning to use an ability restrictor on you, and you aren't freaking out at all?" Keefe put his hand to her forehead as if checking the temperature. Then he belted dramatically, "Who are you, and what have you done with the ever-worrisome Lady Fos-Boss?"

Sophie rolled her eyes. "I am worried, but I'm not overreacting, like some people. Rex healed up and it's been an entire month since the plans were stolen. I'm starting to think that Fitz lost the blueprint halfway to the hideout."

It felt wrong to be joking around about this when Dex and Rex would have to live with the trauma of the month before.

"Let's hope so," Keefe said quietly, clearly worrying about this more than Sophie thought he should be.

"Besides, with Sandor breathing down my neck, they'll never be able to get it on my head," Sophie reminded him, trying to lighten the mood. She leaned her head on his shoulder, and he wrapped an arm around her shoulder, squeezing it.

"Yeah, Sandor will deal with them," he said softly. "Oh, I almost forgot!" He sprang up, and Sophie almost fell over. But she was used to being clumsy.

Keefe disappeared behind the Panakes then reappeared, hands behind his back, and sat down beside her. "Alright, I brought you a gift, and you have to close your eyes."

"Why?" Sophie asked suspiciously.

"Just close them!" Keefe said, almost sounding exasperated. Sophie chuckled and squeezed her eyes shut, and something heavy plopped into her hand. She opened her eyes once Keefe told her to, and she saw a large tin with a gold ribbon, when she looked up at Keefe, his eyes were on her in anticipation and excitement and a small bit of worry.

She untied the ribbon extra slow, just to annoy Keefe, and as soon as the top was off, she dropped the tin onto her lap and pulled out the small purple watercolor pad, and opened it carefully.

Her gasp was so loud that she was sure it was why Verdi suddenly woke up from her nap. As usual, she was impressed with his attention to detail, and how he perfectly drawn the day they were flying across the ocean on Siveny's back, but what struck her the most was how the memory moved only slightly with every page. Though it confused her at first, so she handed it to Keefe for an explanation.

"So I know that you watched movies growing up," he explained. "And I figured out how the 'cartoons' were made, just picture by picture until it looked like it was moving. And I needed to take my art to a new level, and you needed a present."

He tilted the notebook at an angle that they could both see it, and he flipped through the paintings, and Silveny flapped her wings and little Sophie and Keefe laughed as their hair flew in the wind.

Sophie had never seen such a beautiful reminder of her childhood, and she couldn't imagine how long that must have taken. "This...Keefe, this might be the greatest gift I've ever gotten."
