"But Hyung, how come? It's a new year soon! You can't leave," Riki stands at the front door with tears in his (Heeseung's) warm sweatshirt and teddy trousers, holding his palm to his chest. Jay is standing next to him, putting his arm around his waist and looking at him sympathetically. Of course, he knows it's just his boyfriends' plan and they're not going anywhere, they just want to give Riki something.

"Ah, Ki, I'm sorry, but hyung and I have to go on a business trip right away. You know we can't say no-" Jake is pained to see the sadness on his face, but he has to bear it steadfastly. Heeseung puts his hand on his shoulder, squeezing it lightly - a sign of support. He nods and his heart breaks in his chest, seeing the tears on their youngest boy's face. In a way, Heeseung feels like an asshole, but it's what's necessary for the cause.

"Baby, Jay will stay with you and you won't even have time to miss us! We'll call and write, bring you lots of goodies and presents, hmm?" he opens his arms for a hug and Riki immediately throws himself into it, burying his face into the older man's coat. Lee hugs him tightly, stroking his head, inhaling the sweet scent of lavender hair shampoo. Heeseung leaves a kiss on Riki's hair and shifts his gaze to Jay. Park seems ready to bury him right in their garden outside their house along with his vegetables for daring to offend his child.

Jay has been reluctant to join in on this plan from the start, believing it to be too cruel to Riki, but a week of persuasion and a little bribery in the form of the seeds he needs and the fabrics he needs to make clothes has made all the difference. And Jay is a weak man when it comes to his boyfriends, so with a heavy heart that he agrees to join in on their crazy idea to propose to Riki. The plan is pretty simple - pretend they're called away for work or need to go to their parents' house in a neighbouring town a few days before the new year celebrations. Of course, the youngest of the guys can't know about anything. They'll act as usual, but slowly carry out their plan.

"Hyung... promise you'll call me when you get there?" Riki asks, no longer hugging Heeseung. The older man looks at him fondly and wipes the tear tracks on his face with his thumbs, then kisses him on the nose.

"Of course, baby! Jakey and I promise we'll text or call," Jake nods back and hugs Riki goodbye. They grab their suitcase and leave the cosy house, leaving Riki with a heavy heart feeling sad.

"Princess, don't be sad. They'll be back sooner than you'll miss them," Jay says, wrapping him in a hug. Riki cried softly in response and hugged the older man tighter as he continued to curse his boys for doing such an unwise thing.

"Hyung, don't you think we went overboard? Riki looked so upset," Sim asks after they check into a hotel across town.

"Mm, trust me, I hated seeing him like that too, but you know we want to surprise him. The rest of us should put the plan in motion in a few days," Heeseung says with a smile, resting his head on Jake's shoulder. He puts his head on Jake's shoulder, taking his hand and intertwining their fingers together.

"Yes, I hope it works out, Hyung," Jake says uncertainly, but older one lifts their interlocked hands and brings them to his lips, leaving a kiss on their knuckles. Such a familiar show of care and support between them.

"I'm sure you will, Jakey. It's worth it," he whispers before pulling the younger man to him and kissing him tenderly.

The next day, Riki wakes up in Jay's arms. A small smile appears on his face and he carefully disentangles himself from his strong arms to get up and make breakfast. The clock on his bedside table reads nine in the morning, so he has quite a bit of time before the others have to go to work. Riki leaves the room, treading quietly on the wooden floor and peeks into his shared room with Jungwon and Sunoo, finding them sleeping together. This brings a smile to his lips and he walks over to his boys, kissing them gently on the top of their heads.
