Melanie's POV:
I walk into the classroom, my eyes roaming the other classmates. I catch sight of my friend Kyle in the back, I quickly rush to the seat he was holding for me. I flash him a quick smirk as I plop down next to him.
"Thanks." I whisper in his ear, my kind words being drowned out by a sudden feminine voice begging for the classes' attention...
"Good morning, Class!" Mrs. Hutson stands up from the large desk, her hands resting on the rigid edges. My eyes quickly lose sight of Kyle, locking onto the tall dark-haired woman right in front of me.
"Fuck she's-" I let out a breathy laugh, quickly shutting myself up not wanting anyone to overhear. Especially not Kyle, God I love the guy, but he would never stop talking about any of the girls I looked at. It would be no different, if not worse, if he knew it was a teacher. I roll my eyes at the thought, brushing it off once Mrs. Hutson takes my full focus again.
"Today is going to be about the Syllabus, you all know how it goes on the first day." Mrs. Hutson says loudly to the class, a soft giggle at the end of her sentence that just makes me tense up in my seat. I shift casually in an attempt to ignore the sudden heat between my legs, clearing my throat only putting a spotlight on me in the now silent classroom, my face bright red as I look down at the laptop sitting in front of me, expecting it to save me from the glares.
Mrs. Hutson's POV:
my eyes dart over to a young girl in the back clearing her throat and shifting in her seat, seemingly trying to hold back giggles. I can't help but smile at her cute little nervous energy, it makes my heart feel warm and excited as her eyes quickly glance at me but then dart away. I take a deep breath and continue to explain to the class the policies for this semester like I do every year.
"This class is going to cover a lot more advanced material than the other English classes, so your assignments are going to be much more challenging and in-depth. I know it's a lot for college freshmen to be dealing with, but I believe you all are just as capable as anyone to push through. You've made it this far and I'm excited to be a teacher for all of you... Does anyone have any questions?" I ask at the end, looking around the room before my eyes quickly glance at the young girl before scanning the room again waiting for anyone to raise their hand. After a few moments of nothing I return to my desk, looking at the clock seeing only five minutes remaining.
"Five minutes are left, you guys can pack up and head out early. Have a good rest of your day everyone." I announce to the class, watching everyone pack up quickly and leave without a thought.
My eyes flicker to the young girl again, seeing her pack up extremely slow, almost like stalling from leaving the room for some reason. A slight smile forms on my face before I look down and begin sorting notes on my desk, acting completely calm and non-chalant as possible. I look up, hearing her sling her purse over her shoulder, my eyes locking on her figure in ways they shouldn't be... just then she gives me this soft, kind smile that causes my heart to skip before she finally leaves the class, my eyes lingering on her cute, petite little frame as she goes.
I let out a deep breath trying to shake the sudden urges away and go back to organizing the papers on my desk, not being able to wipe off the soft smile she left on my face.
