Chapter 2: Training Day
Scene 1: Top Wing Academy – Training Area
Blue stretched his arms and looked around the training area of Top Wing Academy. Swift, Penny, Rod, and Brody had offered to teach him some of their skills. Even though Blue had been in countless battles as Power Rider TikTok, training with his childhood heroes felt like an opportunity he couldn’t pass up.
Swift: (enthusiastically) “Alright, Blue! Let’s see what you’re made of!”
Blue: (grinning) “Bring it on, guys. I’ll try not to show off… too much.”
The cadets laughed, then led him to the training course, which was set up with different obstacles—flying rings, wall climbs, and agility drills.
Rod: “Let’s start with some speed training. Think you can keep up?”
Blue: “Oh, you’re on, Rod.”
Blue and Rod lined up for a race across the training course. Swift blew a whistle, and they were off! Blue pushed himself hard, keeping up with Rod through the first set of obstacles, but Rod had the advantage in this terrain.
Rod: (teasing) “Come on, Blue, I thought you said you were fast!”
Blue: (laughing) “I’m just warming up!”
Rod managed to finish first, but Blue wasn’t far behind. The other cadets cheered as they crossed the finish line, high-fiving each other.
Penny: “Nice try, Blue! You did pretty great for your first round.”
Swift: “How about we show you some flying tricks next?”
Blue’s eyes widened. While he’d done plenty of action moves, flying was a whole new challenge for him.
Blue: “Flying? Now that’s something I’d love to learn!”
The cadets led Blue to a small jetpack they’d modified to fit him. After a quick tutorial, Swift helped him strap it on.
Swift: “Just lean forward a little to gain speed, and pull up to lift. Don’t worry, we’ve got your back!”
Blue: (nervously) “Alright… here goes nothing.”
With a deep breath, Blue activated the jetpack. He wobbled at first but quickly found his balance. The cadets flew alongside him, guiding him through loops and turns.
Brody: “Not bad for a beginner, Blue! You’re getting the hang of it.”
Blue: (grinning) “This is incredible! I can’t believe I’m actually flying with you guys!”
Blue felt completely in sync with his new friends. As they soared over the academy, he looked down and saw the entire training area below. It felt surreal.
Scene 2: PJ Masks HQ – Later
Back in the real world, the PJ Masks were still hard at work trying to bring Blue back. Owlette was studying the TV in Blue’s living room while Catboy and Gekko tried different ways to communicate with him.
Owlette: (frustrated) “This TV won’t respond to any of our usual tech. It’s almost like it has its own rules.”
Gekko: “There’s gotta be a way to connect to Blue. Maybe if we use our Owlette-pad’s signal booster, we can strengthen the connection.”
Catboy: “Good idea! Let’s try it.”
Owlette tapped a few buttons, linking her Owlette-pad to the TV and boosting the signal. A faint image of Blue and the Top Wing cadets training appeared on the screen.
Catboy: (relieved) “There he is! He looks alright.”
Owlette: “Blue! Can you hear us?”
Blue’s voice came through faintly on the other end.
Blue: “PJ Masks! I can hear you! The cadets and I are training right now—this place is amazing!”
Gekko: “We’re trying to figure out how to get you back, Blue. Just stay close to the cadets, okay?”
Blue: (grinning) “Will do! But take your time; I’m having a blast!”
Owlette, Catboy, and Gekko exchanged relieved smiles. At least they knew Blue was safe… for now.
Scene 3: Top Wing Academy – Training Area
As the PJ Masks worked on a plan, Blue and the cadets moved on to their next training exercise. Swift led Blue over to the academy’s obstacle course, filled with climbing walls, rope swings, and tunnels.
Swift: “Alright, Blue. Let’s see how you handle some classic Top Wing challenges!”
Blue: “Let’s do it!”
One by one, the cadets took turns showing Blue how to tackle each part of the course. Blue followed along, determined to keep up. He climbed, jumped, and crawled his way through the obstacles, matching the cadets’ pace as best he could.
After a few tries, Blue completed the entire course alongside his new friends. He was out of breath but grinning from ear to ear.
Blue: “You guys really know how to push a guy to his limits!”
Penny: (laughing) “That’s the Top Wing way! We train hard so we can help anyone who needs it.”
Brody: “And you did awesome, Blue. We’re lucky to have a hero like you on our team!”
As they laughed and congratulated each other, a low rumble echoed through the sky. The cadets stopped, glancing around as dark clouds began to gather overhead.
Swift: (frowning) “That’s strange… we don’t usually get storms here.”
Blue: (suspicious) “Something doesn’t feel right.”
The wind picked up, and the sky grew darker. But before anyone could react, the clouds suddenly cleared, as if nothing had happened. The cadets exchanged puzzled looks.
Penny: “That was weird…”
Blue: (shrugging) “Maybe it was just a freak weather thing. Anyway, I’m ready for more training if you guys are!”
The cadets agreed, but Blue couldn’t shake the feeling that something was off. He decided to brush it off for now, focusing instead on his time with his friends.
Scene 4: PJ Masks HQ – Evening
Back at PJ Masks HQ, Owlette, Catboy, and Gekko were piecing together a way to pull Blue out of the Top Wing world. But they’d also noticed the strange weather phenomenon on their monitors.
Catboy: “Did you see that storm appear out of nowhere in Blue’s world?”
Gekko: “Yeah… it disappeared just as fast, too. You think it could be connected to Blue somehow?”
Owlette: (thoughtfully) “Maybe. Something tells me there’s more to this than we realize. We’d better keep an eye on him in case anything else happens.”
Scene 5: Top Wing Academy – Evening
After a long day of training, Blue and the cadets gathered around a campfire near the academy. They roasted marshmallows, sharing stories and laughs.
Swift: “So, Blue, what’s it like being a hero in your world?”
Blue: (smiling) “It’s amazing, honestly. I’ve met so many friends along the way, like the PJ Masks. But it’s also tough sometimes. You have to make big decisions and face some pretty scary stuff.”
Penny: “Sounds like you’re really brave, Blue.”
Blue: “Well, I try. And I couldn’t do it without friends like you guys.”
As they shared a laugh, Blue felt a sense of peace settle over him. But in the back of his mind, he couldn’t shake the strange feeling from earlier. Something told him this adventure was only just beginning—and he might need every bit of courage he had.
