A few days had passed since the king tested those 4 candidates, and the time to find a king became shorter and shorter. He asked his guards, local professors, anyone he could, but nobody had a good enough solution. Until one day, while he was in town, he stumbled upon the local mechanic. The mechanic was actually the only good mechanic in town, who made all sorts of robots or other original creations, displaying them after they were done for everyone to see. He was the confident and optimistic type, which, although he hated to admit it, the king was a little jealous of him for being able to be happy almost all of the time.

They greeted each other, and started having a conversation. The king talked to the other about his problems, and asked the mechanic if he had any suggestions. The mechanic went silent for a little bit, and then his eyes slightly widened, as if he had just thought of a brilliant idea.

He suggested to the king, that maybe he could help him build a robot prince, for a price of course. The king looked at him dumbfounded. He thought it was a ridiculous idea, but the other persisted. He said that a robot prince would really benefit the kingdom since he didn't have to be fed or be taken care of. He also told the king that he actually found a fire crystal, and that if they put it inside the prince, it would technically give him fire powers since his body would be able to withstand the heat of the crystal, unlike humans.

The king became amazed when he heard that, crystals with elemental energy inside of them were incredibly rare to find, and there were probably not a lot of them left in the world. The king then pointed out that he would need a king, not a prince, and he asked what the prince would do after he died.

The mechanic stopped to think for a second, and asked if his son could manage him. The king immediately frowned just at the mention of him, and said that he would never be able to take care of him.

The mechanic then suggested to make the prince move and act automatically so that it would allow him to take orders and also have the ability to learn like humans. And if that works out, he could become king for as long as he's ordered to. The king went silent, thinking that this may actually be possible, but was still doubtful. He agreed, and the mechanic was ecstatic. The mechanic told the king to meet him at his shop in a few days and talk about how the prince should look and act. The king agreed and they both said goodbye to each other and went their own separate ways.

After a few days had passed, the king met up with the mechanic at his shop. His shop was full of metal scraps, tools, dirty cloths and random blueprints scattered everywhere, and it was rather small, with only a desk to sit at that was covered in papers and even more blueprints. The king was a little bit disgusted at the state of the place, but he had to deal with it.

The mechanic came over to him and dragged him into another room, where there was some sort of skeleton made out of metal rods. The mechanic led the king to another desk that had a blueprint on it, that was meant for the prince. The king looked at it and was amazed. The design looked great, and he started to think that this would actually work.

The mechanic explained to him that if he were to put the fire stone inside of him, he would have to build his body out of magma rocks, to be able to withstand the heat, then cover them up with metal to hide them. The king agreed to the plan and told the mechanic that he would give him as many coins as he needed to be able to make the prince.

The mechanic thanked the other, delighted, and told him that he would start working right away. The king nodded and left the shop, hearing the mechanic squealing in excitement as he left.

A few weeks had passed, and the king was in his castle, sitting on his throne, waiting anxiously. He got word that the prince was almost finished, and that he was asked to come to the shop soon to see him before he inserted the crystal inside of him. He was beginning to get impatient and thought about just barging in the shop. Only a few minutes had passed, yet it felt like hours for the king. Finally, a guard came up to him and informed him that the prince was ready. The king immediately got up and ran to the shop.

When he arrived at the shop, he went into the room that the mechanic dragged him into and saw that the skeleton he saw back then, now looked like a human, kind of, more like a robot actually, but he had the body of a human. He even had hair and clothes, and there was a big hole in his chest where the king assumed the crystal was supposed to go. He saw the mechanic shaking, barely containing his excitement, and the king swore he could see sparkles in his eyes. The king looked over to the desk behind him and saw the crystal, along with a sword next to it, and his eyes widened. He walked closer to it to get a better look at it and could feel the heat radiating off of it. The mechanic also walked over and grabbed some metal tongs that he used to pick up the crystal. He walked over to the prince, the king following him, and stopped. He turned to look at the king, who was watching closely, and asked him "Are you ready?" The king nodded quickly, and the mechanic's smile widened.

He placed the crystal inside of the prince's chest and attached it to some thick and strong, metal strings to secure it in place. The mechanic turned on the switch that was on the prince's back, and they both immediately stepped back. They watched as the crystal started to spread its magic inside the prince's body, causing him to look red because of the heat. The prince turned on and opened his eyes, but before the king could even gasp, he saw the prince's eyes melt, down his face and onto the floor, the metal then started heating up too quickly and was turning bright red. The mechanic severely underestimated how hot the crystal could get, and now the prince was just about to explode. He immediately grabbed the king's arm and dragged him out of his shop quickly. As soon as they got outside, they heard a loud boom coming out of the shop. The shop caught on fire and the crowd that was nearby panicked. The mechanic and king both panicked too, and quickly ran off to find water. They ran through the chaotic crowd, and found some buckets of water near a river, they quickly grabbed them and ran back to the shop, where they threw the water on the fire and extinguished it.

They both sighed in relief, and the king turned to the mechanic and gave him a frown. The mechanic laughed nervously and turned to look at his shop, which was now half destroyed. He squinted his eyes, and he could see a shadow in the doorway, that was covered in smoke. The king looked over as well and saw something walking towards them. When it got closer, they could see it clearly, it was the prince.

The king was both amazed and terrified. Who he saw in the room before it went up in flames was completely different from who he saw now.

He was such a handsome, young-looking prince with beautiful blue eyes, light brown hair, and very elegant clothes. Now, what stood before him was an eyeless monster, clothes ruined by the fire, hair that was now a dark brown-red color, and limbs that were burned to a crisp. Some of his limbs had suffered more damage than the others, and the crystal inside of him was emitting a very powerful glow, causing intense heat.

The mechanic smiled with wide eyes, looking very proud of what he had created. The king knew the mechanic was always a bit unhinged, but seriously, how could he smile at something like that?

The mechanic got up and approached the prince. He examined him from head to toe while the prince stood there, staring at him. The mechanic reached out to touch the prince, but the prince immediately slapped his hand, burning him. The mechanic flinched and looked at his burned hand, but his smile widened even more.

The king was creeped out, the man had just been burned, yet he was still smiling. The king walked closer to the prince, and the prince immediately bowed down. The king was a little surprised, although he should have expected it. He ordered the prince to follow him to his castle, and the prince complied.
