Ok a little background about Stephen Gallagher is that one, he's one year younger then Carl two, he's mixed because Monica cheated on frank with Stephen's real dad who left town when he was about 5 or 6 the only thing he left him is a basketball jersey sense Stephen really loves basketball,
another thing is he sees Fiona as a mother figure and has a son and mother like relationship with her so dose Carl which is very cute to me.
Stephen and Carl are the closest they share basically everything from clothes to birthdays and interest to literally destroy everything in their path so yeah Carl is Stephen best friend basically.
