𝐜𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐨𝐧𝐞: 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐧

"eee, you're back!" rose squealed as she hugged peter.

"hey, rosie." peter greeted and hugged back.

peter had been away for a little bit in germany for the stark internship, which in actuality was just him helping tony stark with superhero things because he's spider-man. he had told her the whole story about him being spider-man after dinner the night they got chinese food with may. she wasn't shocked, but she wasn't expecting it either. she thought it made sense, but never truly thought there would ever be a connection between peter being spider-man. she had no idea he was bitten by a spider. she had told him she was happy he was doing something he was passionate about, but also if it ever gets too much to stop. the last thing she wanted to do was to lose him.

he sighed as she embraced him. peter loved her hugs. they made him feel so loved. he loved how she smelt too. like strawberries, which was her favorite fruit.

it turns out, rose felt the same way about peter. his hugs made her feel so safe and she loved his vanilla scent.

they pulled away and rose looked him up and down.

"you look different." she stated.

"what?" he furrowed his eyebrows.

"i don't know, you just look...older. taller. more confident." she replied with a shrug.

he was silent. he wasn't sure what she had meant when she said those things.

"don't tell me you're growing up on me, peter. we're supposed to stay young forever, remember?" she raised her eyebrows as she put her hands on her hips.

rose and peter were both kids at heart, and didn't want to to grow up, so they said they'd stay young forever. together.

"i'd never grow up on you, rosie." he shook his head.

rose smiled at that.

"good. so tell me everything." she said and pulled him down onto her bed so that they were sitting next to each other.

"uh, okay. well i got to fight captain america. i was hiding, right, and then mister stark yelled 'underoos ' so i swung out and stole cap's shield. it was awesome. oh! and then there was this really small ant guy, i think his name is ant-man. and he turned from small to reeeaaaaalllyyyy huge. it was crazy. and of course, happy was there. not at the fight, obviously, but with me in the hotel and in the limos and stuff. he basically just watched over me. he's such a good guy. oh! oh! and i got a new suit from mister stark! it is soooo cool. it's way better than my old suit!"

rose giggled and smiled at him. "sounds like you really enjoyed yourself."

"aw, yeah, i did. i can't wait for the next mission. i just felt so...useful."

"you're always useful, peteie."

"i know, but this...this is different." he said. "oh! and i made a video diary! oh—i mean..."

she perked up.

"a video diary? can i see?" she asked.

"uh, actually i can't really show you...happy said i'm not supposed to and i don't wanna get in trouble. i mean, you already know that i'm spider-man and stuff, but—."

"hey, it's okay, i get it. i understand. it's confidential. i don't really need to see it anyway to know how great you are." she smiled.

"yeah." he muttered.

it was silent for a moment.

"hey, do you want to grab a sandwich at delmar's?" he asked.

she smiled. "i'd love nothing more."

"let's go."

and they were off.
