Chapter Three

The Performance Of The Night

"Pardon?" I ask rather confused by his sudden question. Needing a little more explanation.
"Every time, I come into work on a night like this, I give my clientele a little performance. Usually, I sing along but tonight, I feel like doing something completely different. So would you do me the honour of singing a duet with me ?" He says which answers some of the questions I had floating around in my head.

It is either the alcohol finding its way into my brain or the way he looks at me that fills me with confidence to agree to his request. "Yeah, Sure why not. It's not every day I get offers like this" I smile and take another sip of my drink which he quickly takes from my hand and replaces with his hand. He slowly stands up and makes his way to stand in front of me, helping me up from my seat. When I stand I notice his quite a bit taller than me even in heels. This guy must be at least 6ft whilst my short ass is only 5ft 6. He tangles his fingers with mine and guides me toward a red door that says stage entrance. I bite my lip a little as my brain screams at me telling me he's going to kill me which I believe is stupid as some weird reason holding his hand makes my heart feel safe with him. The door closes behind us making the noise outside it becomes muffled giving me the ability to think clearly.
"By any chance to happen to know the lyrics to Lover Of Mine by 5 Seconds Of Summer?" He asks me, making me nod to him.
"I do, yes." I laugh which makes him give me a confused facial expression. "I'm a songwriter so I listen to all types of music to fuel my inspiration "
He gives me an understanding nod as he hands me a microphone and leads me up onto the main stage. I stand behind the red velvet curtains hiding the stage away from the busy nightclub. I feel Asmodeus stand next to me as the music from the other side gets cut and loud screaming and applauding can be heard.
"You've got this princess" he reassures me and places a small kiss on my knuckles making my heart swoon at the contacts of my skin against his lips.
"Ladies, Gentlemen and creatures of all kinds. We have a special performance from None other than the boss man himself Asmodeus" The DJ introduces as the curtains start to open as the backing track for Lover Of Mine begins to play. He lets go of my hand and starts to walk forward I follow his lead and let him start the song off.
His deep voice began to sing, the world soundly like heaven to my ears. He finished off the first verse as I begin to join in to harmonise with him, I walk up so I was standing next to him as I sang out with. Our voices form into the most beautiful melody anyone has ever heard as we continue to sing out into the crowd. Asmodeus stops singing to let my voice be heard for the chorus.
I sing the lyrics softly as he joins me again for the next part. We continue to sing together, turning to face each. Asmodeus's hands come up and stroke my cheek as I stop singing letting him sing part of the chorus before joining in for the last two bars.

We harmonise the last few notes as the music ends. A huge roar of cheering, whistling and clapping overtakes the whole nightclub as I continue to gaze into Asmodeus's eyes, My heart pounding in my chest as butterflies flutter up a storm in my stomach. I feel breath taken by the gentleman in front of me. His whole aura makes me safe and content with just a single touch but this must be the alcohol, Right?  The curtains begin to close as we continue to stare into each other eyes. The world around just seems to melt away as we stand there. "Your voice is amazing" He finally speaks, causing me to smile and blush slightly.
"Could say the same about yourself" I giggle softly as his hand comes up to stroke my cheek again causing my heart to pound even harder, "What are you doing to me?" I ask softly, my head automatically leaning into his tender touch.
"I was about to ask the same thing, Princess" He smiles at my words and my reaction, I feel myself take a few steps closer to him and him to me. Our breath moulding into one as my gaze flutters from his eye to his lips. Every instinct in my body was screaming to kiss him but It felt odd for me to make the first move, like he was some sort of rebound even though this doesn't come close to feeling like that.
"Instead of thinking, Solar. Kiss me" He spoke softly, my name sounding like honey as it came out of his mouth. Without a second thought, our lips come crashing down together, meeting in the middle, moving in perfect sync with one others. My arms instantly wrap around his neck, drawing him close to me. His wet muscle invades my mouth, causing a sweet moan to escape from my throat. Asmodeus groaned, sending shivers down my spine and into my core. Fuck he's driving me insane just from his lips and his sounds. The man got me hooked. My finger curled in his hair tugging slightly at the roots earning another moan from the handsome man my lips were currently locked with.

"Huh hum" Someone coughs causing us to break apart and look in the direction the noise came from. A slim-figured brunette with piercing blue eyes stands between the stage entrance. We pull apart quickly as I look down at my feet feeling slightly ashamed of my actions just now even though it was the best thing I've ever experienced in my life.
"Talia.. what are you doing backstage?" He asked trying to compose himself as I bite the inside of my cheek, guilt instantly filling my body as those words left his mouth. Is he married? Does he have a girlfriend? Did he just cheat with me? Oh god.
I quickly lift my head and look between the two. "Asmodeus... It was a pleasure singing to you as well as... Nevermind... I should be going now, Thank you for the experience" I blurt out and begin to make my way to the exit. I look at the women as I squeeze past, "I'm truly sorry" I apologise and run down the stage stairs and out the door, up the stairs and out of the entire building. I take a deep breath once I reach the night air as I turn left and begin the tiresome walk home. My hand subconsciously lift to touch my lips that still tingled with the feeling of Asmodeus's pressed against mine, my mind flooded with images of the kiss causing my heart to pound in my chest again. Never once have I felt like this kissing someone but for some reason my body reacted of its own accord.

Streets turn into more streets as I wander down the path, not taking any notice of the directions I'm walking in as I play that kiss over and over again in my mind. One fantastic kiss that will forever haunt my memories of this night. I take my phone out and look at the time. "1:10 pm, I was only out for a few hours and yet it was the best night of my life," I say out loud to myself.
"I'm glad I made it a night to remember" That deep voice that's been driving me crazy this walk home. I stop and look behind me, smiling when I see it wasn't my mind playing tricks on me and Asmodeus was standing right there.
"How long have you been following me for?" I ask try to act like I didn't care but I was curious nonetheless.
"Since you ran out of the club. Why did you do that?" He answers with a question as he joins my side as we walk down the street in what I think is the direction to my house.
"Well... I didn't like the idea of upsetting your girlfriend or wife because of us kissing...It's cheating you know" I explain as we continue down a street I don't recognise.
"It's not cheating if I'm not dating anyone" He adds making me stop and look at him dumbfounded.
"So your single?"
"Yes, Solar I'm single, and forever will be as I don't date. Well not anymore" Asmodeus states clearly which causes me to sigh. Once again another guy that refuses to date.
"Ah... Well you're probably best leaving me be as I'm not doing another no strings attached thing again"
"And whys that?"
"Because I'd like something real that isn't just fun and non-committal" I pout as we walk further down the street when I finally realise that I'm well and completely lost, "Fuck"
"what's the matter?" He asks as I look around hopelessly trying to figure out where I am.
"I'm lost"
"Well, tell me where you live and I'll take you there. My car is parked just up the road we've just come down" He points as I follow his lead back up the road we've just walked down. We reach his car within minutes, Asmodeus open the door of his red Porsche, letting me climb into the passenger seat, fastening my seat belt as he closes the door behind me. He gets into the driver's seat and presses a button that starts the car and pulls away from the curb and towards the direction of the main road.
"I live on Lumley Estate," I say as he indicates to turn left and turns the steering wheel turning the car into that direction.
"Solar, I'd love to take you out sometime?" He asks which confuses me further, didn't he just say that he doesn't date?
"Why?" I reply bluntly as I stare at him as he drives down the correct street which leads onto mine.
"Because I'm drawn to you for some reason and I want to spend time with you" He answers honestly as we take another turn onto my street. I see my house rolling up so I point to it and he pulls into the curb putting it into park.
"Well thank you again for the duet. It was lovely meeting you, Asmodeus. Goodbye" I say as I unbuckle my seat belt and go to open the door, hearing a clicking noise just as I pull on the handle, "Unlock the door, Please"
"Let me take you out, Solar," He says sweetly causing my heart to flutter at the way he says my name.
"If I say yes will you let me out?" I say trying to act strong knowing I'd of said yes instantly.
"That and another one of those addictive kisses" He teases. I roll my eyes and lean forward pressing my lips to his for a quick peck. As I begin to pull away, he pulls me back in and our lips mould against each other for a deep and passionate kiss. My hands quick meet his hair and tug instantly at his root causing those compelling groans to escape. I pull back a little without thinking and say the words I know deep down I shouldn't say.
"Would you like to come in?"
