Chapter 3: Far From Home

We left my parents castle 3 hours ago and still haven't arrived to Sukuna's shrine. All Aurora could see is tree after tree after tree like a huge forest that never ends. She sighs softly to herself because she doesn't want Sukuna to know how bored she was or to irritate him. "We shall be at my shrine within a couple of days, so make yourself comfortable inside the carriage. We have room for you to sleep if needed. We are not making any stops along the way." Sukuna stated before leaning back against the wall of the carriage. Aurora took a few blankets and a pillow and placed them on the floor. Her tummy growled loudly letting Sukuna glare at her.

"Your hungry? There is some food and water in the bag next to you that we brought before we left my Shrine." He pointed at the bag next to her, and Sukuna fell asleep. Deep down he never sleeps just only pretending for now. "Thank you, my lord." She opened the bag, looked inside, and saw the food and water. She took out some meat, an apple and water, placed it on a napkin and began to eat the meat first. Aurora tried to eat quietly as Sukuna was supposedly asleep. She didn't want to wake him or he might end up killing her. Uruame looked back into the carriage for a moment then looked back onto the road ahead.

The land was flat with no bumps, no mountains, no people in sight, its just emptiness and it felt uneasy to her. 'Where could his shrine be?' she asked herself before continuing to eat more of her food. As seconds turned into minutes, as minutes turned into hours, she fell asleep inside the carriage. Uruame was the only one awake driving the horses that pulled the  carriage carrying the King of Curses and his soon to be bride. 5 minutes later then drive over a bump and Sukuna jumped into the air and hit his head on the roof. "FUCK! What the hell?!" Sukuna yelled loudly and woke up Aurora from her sleep. "W-what?" She rubbed her eyes and slowly got up. "My apologies, Lord Sukuna. We hit a bump just now. There might be more a long the way, so try not to fall asleep until we are in the clear." They acknowledged.

Sukuna and Aurora had to wait another 30 minutes until the bumps had descended before going back to sleep. It was only 4 pm and they still have a long way to go until they are at Sukuna's Shrine. "We are in the clear, so get some rest." Uruame stated. They went back to sleep for a couple hours until dinner time. Traveling was boring, no beautiful scenery to look at, and Sukuna is not exactly the chatty type. "Hey, Sukuna? May I ask you a question?" She hesitated before speaking. "What do you wish to ask me, brat?" When he said brat really pissed her off. "Brat?! You have some nerve calling me brat, Sukuna!" She growled under her breath, making fists in both of her hands, and really wanting to punch him. "Kukuku, get use to it. Now ask!" He demanded. "Why did you accept this deal with my father's friend?"

Sukuna rolled his eyes at the pathetic question she asked before he answered. "I'm not sure why and I wasn't sure if it was a good idea either" He folded both of his arms, pondering at the question and just kept thinking about the true answer to her question. "Oh...." Aurora had nothing else to say after that answer he gave. Her heart dropped and that warm feeling felt cold and dark. She hated that feeling. "Were you expecting a different answer? How pathetic of you. So human with these emotions that doesn't mean shit to me." He spoke with sadistic intentions towards her. Sukuna got up from her spot, moving towards her before kneeling down on one knee. "Maybe I did this just to hurt such a lowlife human such as yourself." He whispers into her ear before moving way from her.

Aurora's eyes began to water, nose turning red and she was crying after he spoke such hurtful words to her. "How dare y-you for s-saying such words t-to m-me!" She slaps him across the face with expressions on her face. Aurora was furious with Sukuna and he got what he deserved. Sukuna grabbed her by the neck, lifted her up high and spoke with such anger in his voice. "Ah, you dare slap me again or I'll kill you, bitch." She nodded and Sukuna dropped to the floor of the carriage. She kept coughing and trying to breathe after he choked her. Aurora crawled towards her blankets, getting under the covers, and curled up like a ball. You never upset Sukuna or else sudden death. "Sorry to interrupt, but we are half way to the Shrine. We should be there tomorrow evening." Uruame changed the mood with an instant. Sukuna acknowledges them before sitting down to his original spot.

Sukuna and Aurora didn't speak for the rest of the evening, but Uruame decided to make some sort of casual conversations with him to past the time. "I believe we should stop for the night, my Lord." They suggested due to the horses being tired from traveling long distances with no rest. "So be it i suppose. Tsk." He sighed, allowing us to stop, but maybe that is a good thing due to his legs being numb. Uruame stopped the horses after finding a nice open field surrounded by trees. Sukuna jumped out of the carriage leaving Aurora inside to sleep. She was very angry with him, so she wanted to be away from him for awhile. "Yup chose the best spot, Uruame." He praise them as he was looking around the area. "Thank you, my Lord." They set up camp in the middle of the field, feeding the horses food, making a huge fire, and found a big log for them to sit on.

"It's time for rest, sir. I'll see you in the morning." Uruame crawls into a few blankets on the solid ground and fell asleep. Sukuna on the other hand doesn't sleep like the other humans do. He is a curse, a monster filled with hate and he loves the power and strength he has. He doesn't need this pitiful human love. How pathetic! Sukuna sat on the long in front of the fire, looking in the center, memorized by its beauty. "How beautiful this big flame is. Heh." He could smell the cinder of burning firewood that would remind him on how many villages he burned down. He misses the thrill and the excitement that it gave him. A stomp was heard behind him that stopped him from looking at the fire. Aurora was behind him, but she was half asleep. "S-Sukuna."
