Elowen's POV

"I'm surprised you're still here, Ms. Nocturne."

My gasp echoed in the room as I looked up, not noticing someone else had entered the room. Zephyr stood there, cloaked by the darkness, shadows playing across his face. Leaning casually against the wall, he exuded an air of ease, as if he had been standing there for an eternity.

How did he not make a single sound?

I stammered, caught off guard, "Y-yes, Mr. Tenebris. I just wanted to make sure everything is perfect."

Zephyr stood there like a king, a regal air around him, and the shadows seemed to dance around him like loyal subjects. While most would shy away from the darkness, he wore it like a royal cloak, every movement exuding an effortless command.

I couldn't help but feel a blush creeping up at the sight.

How could someone be so effortlessly attractive?

Shaking off my thoughts, I cleared my throat, meeting his gaze. "Is there something I can assist you with, Mr. Tenebris?"

Zephyr's gaze intensified as he met my eyes, a subtle smirk playing on his lips in response to my question. His voice, smooth and commanding, cut through the silence, "Start packing up. It's late. I'll be dropping you home."

Oh-

I hesitated, a flicker of uncertainty crossing my face.

Zander has already arranged for a driver, and I'd be fine even if he hadn't. I don't want to trouble them anymore. They've already done way too much for me.

"Mr. Tenebris, I appreciate your offer, but Mr. Zander has already arranged for a driver, and I wouldn't want to inconvenience—"

However, before I could complete my sentence, Zephyr's demeanor underwent a swift transformation.

The charm that had defined him moments ago evaporated, replaced by a formidable presence. His eyes narrowed with authority, an unspoken warning not to challenge his directives. He interrupted with a stern edge to his voice, "I wasn't asking."

His eyes narrowed even further, before he started walking towards me. As he moved closer, each step echoing authority, my heart quickened.

Did I piss him off? But I was just trying to make sure I wasn't being a hassle.

He finally stopped, as he stood on the other side of the desk, his proximity making the room feel smaller. His gaze bore into mine, his voice deepening as he spoke, "Miss Nocturne, it seems you enjoy resisting when I ask you to do something."

I gulped, feeling the weight of his presence. "I-I didn't mean to resist, Mr. Tenebris. I just thought it might be more convenient for the driver Mr. Tenebris arranged."

He took a step closer, his voice lowering to a dangerously seductive tone, "Convenience is a relative term, Elowen. What I find convenient is your quick compliance with my instructions. Is that clear?"

I nodded, my throat dry, "Yes, Mr. Tenebris. I'll start packing up."

He leaned in, his lips inches from my ear, "Good girl. When I tell you to do something, you do it."

I could feel my breath hitch as I felt his soft breath on my neck.

As he straightened up, I couldn't shake off the shiver that ran down my spine. His eyes were on me, as he took in my flustered state. A smirk curled at the edge of his mouth. "Now, pack up. You're leaving with me. I'll inform Zander about the change in plans."
