Elowen's POV
Ethereal.
That was my first thought, as Zander opened the door to my new office. 'All this space is for m-me?'
As I further stepped into the office, my eyes widened in awe at the sight before me. The spacious room was bathed in natural light streaming through the floor-to-ceiling windows, casting a warm glow over the white and cream-themed decor. A sense of tranquility washed over me as I envisioned the perfect spot for my plants, their vibrant hues contrasting against the serene backdrop.
Completely forgetting about Zander, I walked towards the windows, giving me a view of the city beneath me. Mentally plotting where I could place my plants, I started looking around the room.
My cactus would be next to me, on my table of course. I can place a pot of aloe vera next to the couch, adding a perfect pop of colour there. Maybe a few terrariums for the table in front of it-
My thoughts were interrupted, as I heard a clearing of throat. Lost in my thoughts, I failed to notice the now added presence of Lysander, standing next to his brother. Both of them looked at me, a hint of amusement shining on their face.
How can you just forget that you didn't walk in alone?
"Well, you obviously like the room."
Heat crept into my cheeks as I nodded, offering a shy smile. "It's... it's incredible. I didn't expect such a beautiful space."
Zander's gaze remained on me as an amused smile spread across Lysander's face. "We're glad you appreciate it," Lysander replied, his tone carrying a subtle warmth. "You'll be spending a lot of time here, after all. The space you work in highly contributes to your productivity."
Zander's deep voice cut through the air, breaking the moment of admiration. "Is there anything you'd like changed or added, Ms. Nocturne?"
Caught off guard by his question, I glanced around, scanning the room once more before shaking my head. "No, it's perfect, really."
Zander nodded in acknowledgment, his steps purposeful as he approached me. In his outstretched hand, he held a sleek black card, its surface reflecting the ambient light. I accepted it with a puzzled expression, turning it over in my fingers.
"Consider this your tool for the job," Zander explained, his tone matter-of-fact. "Any expenses related to your work, whether it's for our errands or your personal needs while working, put it on this card. Lunch, work-appropriate attire, retail therapy if you're stressed, or whatever else you might need."
My eyes widened in surprise, grappling with the sudden responsibility. "Oh, I... I wasn't expecting..."
Zander cut me off with a slight raise of his hand. "Consider it part of your role. It's important to us that you're comfortable and equipped to handle the tasks we'll be assigning you. Don't hesitate to use it at all."
I nodded, still absorbing the unexpected perk of the job.
I didn't know personal assistants had so many benefits, not that I'm complaining.
Zander's gaze held a hint of amusement as he continued to divulge the perks of the position. "You'll also receive a new phone, a laptop, and a car."
My eyes widened in disbelief, and I stammered, "A c-car?"
What do they mean a car? Why would I need a car?
Zander nodded. "Yes, a car. Given the nature of our business, there might be instances where your presence is required at odd hours. Having a car will ensure you can get to and from wherever you're needed efficiently."
