Tried a different narrative. I love Lou Reed from the depths of my heart!

The mid-afternoon sun was gently shining through the trees, casting a warm golden glow on the colorful leaves. The air had a crispness to it, and she could feel the cool breeze brushing against her cheeks. The leaves had transformed into a breathtaking palette of reds, oranges, and yellows, creating a picturesque scene everywhere she looked.

As she walked the uneven grounds of the woods, she could hear the satisfying crunch of fallen leaves beneath her boot heels, adding to the sensory experience. It was a day that felt like a cozy embrace, yet somehow, she felt the total opposite of it.

Her boyfriend, Lewis or the way she loved to address him, Lou, telephoned her earlier that day to meet him under the largest tree in the nearby woods. The said tree was the couple's favourite, for it was linked with precious memories.

It was under that tree that Lou and her first met, sharing their mutual love for music. It was under that tree that the couple shared their first kiss, after confessing romantic feelings for one another. And it was under that tree when Lou announced to her about his band going commercial.

In a nutshell, every good memory was interlinked with that massive tree. And as she neared it today in the now dying beams of the mid-afternoon sun, she observed the leaves' vibrant colours of orange, brown and red. She reached out and traced her fingertips on the wide bark, over the spot where Lou and her had engraved their initials inside a heart.

She smiled a little, receiving flashbacks of that memory. It was a fine day, just like today's, although it was summer that time. Lou had asked her out on a picnic date, where under that tree they shared a kiss and munched on apple pies.

In contrast to the happiness of the memories linked with Lou, and the mood set by her surroundings- she couldn't help but feel gloomy and somewhat worried.

Somehow, she had a hunch why Lou had called her this time to meet under the tree, and no- it was not to announce a breakup.

In fact, she was settled that no bad news could ever unravel under the tree unless someone forced it. And what added to her misery, was that she was going to be that someone if Lou acted just as she was predicting.

With dread, she leaned her back against the bark of the tree, hugging her overcoat closer to her body. A chilly breeze swept past her and she noticed the faraway figure of her boyfriend making his way up the steep, a prominent smile on his face.

Lou neared her and greeted with a smile, squinting against the low sun, "Hello. Glad you made it."

He kissed the apple of her cheek, encircling his arms around her waist and pulling her into a hug. She embraced him, burying her face in his chest and inhaling his sweet scent. Cologne and iron-pressed shirt.

With a smile, she looked up at him, "I missed you. You've been on work a lot."

"Well, the band's becoming a mess." Lou added with a chuckle, leaning down to kiss the space between her brows. "But I'm glad we're together again. And no power in the world could undo that. I can hold you forever."

She blushed. "Is that why you called me here? To hold me?"

The smile on Lou's face dissipated into a nervous look, as he began fumbling with his words. "More than that actually."

She watched as Lou's cheeks turned pale pink, and a soft genuine smile painted his lips. His hold around her waist tightened as he added in a whisper, "I don't exactly know how to say this- or begin as a matter of fact."
