Ever since Trevor went, there was no contact with him whatsoever.
But this morning as I stagger downstairs while rubbing my eyes, I am greeted with the lovely sight of Mag laughing to what Trevor was saying.
I stop in my tracks. All the sleepiness in my system has now vanished.
The two siblings turn to look at me but as they open their mouths to say something, I fling myself onto Trev at such a force that he staggers backwards.
"Trev! You are back!" I exclaim.
The feeling of excitement and joy that I feel is like none other.
It has been three months now since he had gone. Within these three months, Trevor now looks completely different from how he was before.
Instead of wearing his usual laid back outfit, he now wears a freshly pressed crisp light blue shirt which is tucked into a pair of equally crisp black trousers.
His hair is also different as well. Normally, his light brown hair would be messy and sticking up in all different directions and even sometimes covering his eyes. But now, it's neatly trimmed and combed back.
Most surprisingly of all is his glasses. I've never seen Trevor with glasses before but seeing him now makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.
I reach out my hand to pinch his cheeks.
"You look so adorable in your glasses!" I exclaim.
He just laughs. Perplexed by my actions.
"Are you well Rina? You are acting weird."
Thinking about it now, I do really feel weird.
Mag reaches out to touch my forehead.
"You are burning up!" she tell me. "You should have told me you were not feeling well. I would have brought some medicine up to you." Mag fusses over me.
"Trev, bring Rina back to bed please. She needs rest. Let me go get my thermometer."
I stumble when Trev gently steers me up.
"No. I want to stay with Trev here. You'll go back when I fall asleep. Won't you?"
He doesn't reply.
"Rina, don't be stubborn. You are sick," Meg says. "Go upstairs. I'll be back with a thermometer."
"Don't make me." I say while folding my arms.
Trev sighs, "I promise I'll stay by your side till 2."
I give him a huge toothy smile and a pronounced nod before skipping upstairs.
Trev graciously waits for me outside as I change out of my pyjamas into a clean t-shirt and a new pair of long pyjama pants.
There are two class I need to attend today but Mag prevents me from 'tiring myself out' by going to the classes. I'm to stay at home. Home.
It's true that these couple of weeks had been hectic for me. Finals are coming up, there are assignments to complete and there's my duty as part of Challenges' crew.
Trev pulls out my white cushioned chair from my desk and sit on it next to my bed. He is different but not much so.
He looks tired and worn out yet clean and fresh.
He gives me a smile.
"How are you feeling now?" He asks.
I have to admit that I was truly angry towards him when he went away but that anger soon turned into guilt. How's he coping with his step-mother? After all, it was me who made him go back. Is everything alright?
"Better now that I've freshened up. I bet Mag isn't successful in searching for the thermometer." I tell Trev.
He laughs. "True. True. I can't remember the last time we used it."
"How are you Trev?" I ask him after awhile as I pull my thick blanket up towards my face.
My hands and feet feel cold in a bad way.
"Ironically that question is not for me," He says with a smile. The smile that can make me feel warm inside. "But, yea, everything's going fine. The project is back on track and hopefully if everything continues on this pace, we can hold the grand opening by September."
"Well, that's great, but you are you?"
"I'll be fine. Don't worry, will you? Your health is more important than other things."
I laugh at that.
"Mag told me that you've been up all night preparing for your exams these days. She also mentioned that you've taken up dancing again and that makes you come back home late on certain days. Is it true?" he asks.
I nod. "I've been helping a girl with her choreography. I'm not a pro but she has to retake her assessment and she thinks I'm a good dancer. And yea, doing this also makes me feel more refreshed."
Mag comes up with a cup of steaming noodles and a pair of chopsticks.
"I can't find the damn thermometer but I've asked Dave to pick it up when he comes. Anyways, as your forehead is literally burning up, Rina, you have to take some medicines." She puts one into my palm.
"Okay. So I'm going down to get ready for the customers but Trev, I'm putting you in charge of looking after Rina." Mag pointedly tell Trevor.
"Yes sir!" Trev salutes to Mag.
She gives him a glare and I laugh.
After Mag goes back down, I eat the noodle soup Mag prepared for me. It's instant noodle but it tasted awesome nonetheless.
"Do you want some tea and biscuits?" Trevor asks after I take the med. "I can go and make some for you."
"That'd be amazing. I have been having dreams of eating your pastries." I tell him with a laugh.
Trevor smiles. "Chocolate Chips?"
"Yes, please!"
"I'll go prepare it." I hear him say it. I mumble out a 'thanks' before I feel my eyes burning up and drowning in sleep.
A/N: It'd be awesome to vote for this story if you liked it. It helps me out a lot.
Tell me what you think of having Trevor back.
This chapter isn't much but I've been super busy these days that I can't really produce any good chapters. Apologies for that but I hope you liked it nonetheless.
