Birthday Surprises
The soft humming of a song
Known to everyone
Filled the cozy house
Gleeful voices singing to the tune of
Happy Birthday
Gifts were given
A cake was blown
A wish was made
By the Princess we love most
Joy was evident in her delicate face
Laughter escaped her lips from time to time
As she celebrated her natal day
Games were played
Songs were sung
And the festivity went on and on
It has been a week since she saw
The kiss that broke her heart
A week since she read
The note of her shooting star
And now here she was
As happy as ever like her heart
Has not gotten torn apart
All because of a small note
From somebody who cares for her
It was a wonder how some lines
From somebody unknown
Could mend a broken heart
How it can light up a dark world
Knowing that somebody out there
Watches you, listens to you
But most of all
Fancies you
And that was all she needed
To get back up in her feet
And now here she was
Enjoying the spoils of a party
Finally after a few more hours
The celebration has ended
And she could now at last rest
For the light of day has vanished
As darkness came with the night
But just as she was about to lay down
A loud knock sounded from the door
She let out a grunt as she rose to get it
Who would be knocking at this time of the night?
She thought in annoyance
But soon her irritation fled
For there by the door
Stood an Ice Cream in a cone
Shining in all its glory
And beside it was an envelope
n which was written in big, bold letters:
Happy Birthday!
A smile appeared on her lips as she
Took the Ice cream and began licking it
Carefully, she opened the envelope
And read the words with delight
Happy Birthday to the most beautiful
Princess to ever live
An ice cream to ease your stress
Come to the park
For there waiting for you is a gift
And another note that leads
One step closer to me
-Your Shooting Star
She wasted no time hesitating
And ran into the blackness of the night
Towards the direction of the park
Getting one step closer
To her beloved Shooting Star...
