A Teddy and a Ring
Loud huffs reverberated
Through the chilly night
Deafening silence filled the
Empty streets
Her auburn hair disheveled
The Ice Cream long gone
The crumpled envelope in her sweaty hand
Our princess has finally reached the park
A hint of a smile tugged at her lips
As she saw another envelope
By the battered swing
And by it sat a Teddy Bear
Her faint smile turned into a grin
As she saw what lay in the teddy bear’s
Soft and fluffy paws
A small jewelry box
A gentle breeze passed by
Messing up her already disheveled
Silky auburn hair
Her heart thumped loudly
As she reached for
The box
She inhaled a huge amount of air
As she fingered the delicate design
Of the small box
And finally opened it
A ring came into view
A Silver Star ring
That reminded her
Of her precious shooting star
Silently she took the envelope
And opened it
And in it was written:
Princess, will you marry me?
I’m kidding =)
I hope you liked the ring and the teddy
Happy Birthday again…
Another gift is waiting for you
In the place you love most
And there I’ll be patiently waiting

The place I loved most?
Thought the confused princess
She sat on a free swing as she thought
Of what her Shooting Star meant
She abruptly stood as she finally understood
What her precious star meant
Where her favorite place was
The place she loved the most
But as she was about to leave
A thought stopped her
Did she really want to see her star
Even if he might not be what she’s expecting?
Even if he might not be everything she’s imagined?
Even if she knew he wasn’t the knight she loved most?
She smiled as her found her answer
Deep in her heart
