"Are you serious, Nick?" I retorted, my exhaustion slowly dissipating as a surge of energy courses through my body.
"Oh, great, a contract for a dating show! Just what I needed. Thanks!" I sarcastically said and angrily placed the paper on the side of the couch as I stood up.
But before I could make a move, Nick pushed me back down onto the soft sofa, the exhaustion creeping closer, making it harder for me to resist.
"Nick, we aren't arguing about this. Thanks for the surprise, Nick. Real big help, trying to waste my time when I could be sleeping right now. Thanks, bud," I said, my words laced with both anger and sarcasm, as I continued to stare at my brother, wondering what on earth he was thinking.
"Well, we won't know if we don't give it a shot. Plus, you'll have a chance to meet new people, make connections, and have a day off. Maybe, just maybe, you'll even get to go to a tropical island, win one million dollars, and find love. Think about it, when was the last time you went on a vacation and found love, huh?" Nick asked as if he already knew the answer.
I stared at him in disbelief. A contract for a fucking dating show? I was too surprised and shocked to speak. What on earth was he thinking? Me, on a fucking dating show? I'm just a plain guy and I've got better things to do than fool around on some ridiculous dating show.
