Amidst the crowd, countless figures - too many to count - approached me. Their laughter and voices sounded muffled as hands and arms reached out to grab me. I found myself blurting out unintelligible nonsense, laughing as their faces loomed in and out of focus, their features dancing before my eyes.
"Whoa, steady there, Noe!" A familiar, friendly disembodied voice muffled through my ear. I knew, right then and there, that I could finally give up my body and lay down.
Muffled voices, laughter, and gasps surrounded my ears as I stared into the big, wide, high-open ceiling. It was magnificent. I felt free and happy.
"Y'all, somebody carry this poor lad! He ain't gonna make it on his lonesome!" A muffled voice shouted from my left or to my right. I felt relaxed and at peace as the ceiling swirled into brightness.
