"Oh Mr. Carter, white is definitely your color!" the stylist exclaimed with excitement as she meticulously worked on my hair and applied a few final touches to my face. Grateful for her kind words, I smiled and thanked her, while stealing nervous glances at my reflection in the mirror. I couldn't help but feel a mix of anticipation and uncertainty, as the unknown awaited me.
"All done, Mr. Carter. Please wait in the dressing room—a staff member will be along shortly," she said with a smile, nodding approvingly at her styling on me, before packing up her supplies and taking her leave.
For a moment, I found myself alone in the spacious dressing room, surrounded by an array of fine suits. I chose to try the crisp white suit, a change from my usual black suit worn daily back in New Ford. Perhaps a change would do me some good, and the stylist was right—white did seem to suit me well.
As I waited, minutes seemed to drift by, allowing me to gaze at my reflection in the mirror. No phones were allowed before or during filming, I had nothing to occupy myself with but my own reflection. Staring into the mirror, I thought I looked rather neat, which mattered greatly to me. Looking fresh and well-groomed. I was ready for what was to come.
Hearing two knocks, somebody entered.
There they are, standing in front of me. It's the same person from the screening. He greeted me with a warm smile, and I couldn't help but return the gesture.
