Black's pov

I was walking back from the market, sun already starting to set. Frank had asked me to restock drinks and gave me some poke to cover it. As the sun turned the blue sky shades of purple and red I heard shouting in the distance.

'I hope it isn't what I think it is.' I start to quicken my pace to step in if need be.

3rd person

Speed: YOU DON'T KNOW?! YOU DON'T KNOW WHY YOU PUT ME THROUGH SO MUCH PAIN?!

Lazuli: I-

Speed: No! I'm sick and tired of this. Don't talk to me ever again. And that includes Silvia since she was helping you. Don't follow me. *walk's away, heading for his room in the house*

Slamming the door shut and locking it, Speed curls into a ball and starters to cry. Cry for his past, for his pain, his broken heart that has been abused, and for a love he abandoned when his real name was revealed.

(Meanwhile, on the beach)

Black had just arrived, seeing Lazuli storm off without even a trace of empathy for the jolteon she has harmed for so long. As he glared at the back of her head, he braced himself to be a shoulder to lean on for Speed, one he realized he should've been when they were still Eevees.

As he put the groceries away, he found a box of hot cocoa. 'Maybe that can help him smile, he asked for it a lot when we were little...', Black thought, pulling out two mugs.

*Knock knock knock*

Speed: Go awa-

Black: Speed, can I come in?

Speed: ....

Black: ...please?

Getting off the ground, Speed walks to the door and unlocks it, letting Black in.

Speed: What do you want. (his eyes are red from crying)

Black: I just want to talk to you for a second.*hands him the hot chocolate* Look, I know I'm not that great with emotions, and I know I shouldn't have abandoned you just cause of a name. But I'm here for you now, and- and I want to make it right.*face reddening as he speaks*

Speed: ..thank you.

Speed crawls into Black's lap, with Black hugging around Speed's neck(the picture above), neither knowing of the spark reignited in the others' heart as they sat and sipped on their drinks, warmth of love spreading onto smiles.
