The rest of my weekend went smoothly. I ended up meeting Seraphina for brunch on Sunday. She didn't bring up anything from the reunion, and I was grateful. We were just two friends having fun and catching up. After that, I took the kids to the park, where they played all afternoon until it got dark. Then we returned home and watched cartoons until their bedtime.

Now, however, it was Wednesday, and I was preparing to meet a new client. My office assigned it to me on Monday, saying they were looking for one of the bigger homes and possibly mansions. I was told this was an exceptional client, VIP status, and I would get a huge commission off this one, so I had to treat them exceptionally well.

It was always fun to get new clients and learn about them and how they would set up the house and plan a future. I was especially excited because I was curious who this VIP client was; they didn't give me any details as I was told they hoped to stay under the radar. I was to meet them at the office at 10 a.m., and we would tour some of the homes.

I always dressed my best at work, especially when I met new clients, especially if they were wealthy. Most people felt that if you didn't look good or close to their level, you probably couldn't show them anything worthwhile, so today, I had on a beige Chanel pencil skirt with a soft pink Chanel satin shirt, beige Chanel pumps, and tasteful jewelry. I didn't usually buy such expensive brands; I bought good quality clothing, not many designers, but I kept a few outfits of high brands for occasions like this. I had straightened my hair until it was bone straight hanging down my back, one side pulled back with a hair clip. The kids had already left for school, so I grabbed my coffee, hopped in my car, and headed to work.

I walked into my office 45 minutes before my client was set to arrive. I stopped at my secretary's desk. Sean Williams was a young, intelligent, hardworking Black man. He had been my assistant since I started at the company two years ago, and I was delighted I could keep him when I got my promotion. He was dedicated to helping and earned that raise and the ability to move up with me. He was ambitious and was hoping to become an agent himself soon.

I said, "Good morning, Sean. How are you?" He smiled at me and said, "I'm good; another full day of work." I smiled and said, "Such a pain, isn't it?" He laughed and said, "Definitely." He handed me a portfolio of all the information on the homes I planned to show today that I had asked him to pull. He said, "Everything is in there, and a map of the easiest path for you to travel between them. "I said, "Great, thank you so much. When they get here, please bring them straight back to my office." He said, "Will do," and I entered my office.

This was the best part of when I moved up in the company, well one of them, the pay and benefits were great too, but I loved my office. It was a large open space with pure white walls and my sleek black desk in the middle of the room. I had a high-backed, wheeled desk chair with armrests. I had a black Mac with dual screens. Everything on my desk was perfectly organized; no papers were out of order, files were perfectly straight, and I had a pencil holder with my favorite writing pencils, sticky notes, and every other office supply you could think of. A large television was mounted in one corner, and a lovely black leather couch on the other side against the wall facing the TV. In front of my desk, there were a couple of comfortable black chairs. It was a great workspace, and I loved it.

I went over everything to ensure I was prepared and had the right notes I wanted to make for each house when I heard a knock on my door. I said, "Come in," and stood to greet them. Sean entered the room first, saying, "Right this way, Mr. Harrison." I didn't register it immediately as Sean walked up to my desk with the client in tow and said, "Kiera, this is your client, Mr. Kian Harrison."

I froze as I looked into Kian's handsome, smiling face. I held my hand out to shake as Sean had been walking towards me and still had it out while I was in shock. Kian grabbed it gently, shaking it, and said, "I'm pleased to see you, Ms. Rollins." I turned to Sean, gave him a forced smile, and said, "Thank you, Sean, that will be all." He stared between Kian and me for a moment before he shook himself and left, closing the door behind him.
