Overall my first week in Minnesota had been great! Nearly every day I was on the ice messing around with district 5.

The team had no coach due to their last one having a heart attack ,which meant they really weren't learning anything!

Charlie had mentioned to me before that their coach never taught them anything anyway, and I could tell just by watching how bad they were, most of their players didn't even know how to skate! So as the kind person I am, I started teaching basic things and tricks to everyone. They had improved a bit but they were still no where near close to being ok.

I had been thinking a lot about Adam over the past few days wondering which school he went to. There wasn't many middle schools in Minneapolis and he definitely didn't go to my school. I hadn't seen him around since we had bumped into each other and to be honest it was kind of disappointing.

My upset was quickly forgotten about though , when Charlie had asked me if I would like to join D-5. Of course I said yes and I ran home to tell my parents. They were happy for me since they know how much I love hockey, and when I told my dad that no one on the team was being horrible about my playing, and that there was in fact another girl on the team, he was delighted.

"Guys you need to bend your knees!" I shouted towards averman and guy who kept doing the opposite of what I said.

Before I could say anything else to them a big black limo pulls up, slowly driving its way onto the ice.

"What the hell!" I exclaimed in confusion, I could hear some others behind me do the same

A smartly dressed man in a big long jacket came to a stop right infront of us.
As he stared down at all of us Jesse started trying to intimidate him.
" yo dude, you obviously in the wrong hood, this is my dominion, this is a drug free zone you understand?" A couple people agreeing in the background
"We ain't buying nothing, now I'm feeling generous today, so imma let you get your sorry vanilla booty outa here before we be using your eyeballs as hockey pucks" he finally finished, proud with himself
I stood near the back, struggling to hold my laughter at the stupid words coming out from Jesse's mouth.
Everyone quickly quietened down when the mysterious man started to opened his mouth

"Thanks BRO, but I'm not going home until I take care of business" he replied to Jesse while slowly starting to pull something out of his pocket.

As everyone started slowly shifting back thinking the man was going to pull out a gun or something, I stayed where I was, I didn't think the man was here to cause any harm so I wasn't scared in the slightest.

The un named man pulled out a small piece of paper from his pocket and I could hear Charlie sigh in relief from Beside me. Everyone shuffled forward back to their original places, trying not to fall.

" district 5 hockey team I'm Gordon Bombay, I'm the new coach" as soon as the man said he was the new coach everyone erupted into laughter
How could he be our new coach? He looked like a rich snob who knew nothing about sport, let alone a sport like hockey.

"Yh right" Jesse said while laughing
"Afraid so DUDE, I've got the roster right here" Gordon said while rolling his eyes

I already don't like this man 🧍‍♂️🙄

"Averman, Dave, Conway, Charlie, Paul, Terry, baker," all of us exchanging glances of bewilderment that he was our coach
"Now here's the long and the short of it, I hate hockey and I don't like kids."

" yeah we definitely couldn't tell" i murmured under my breath while rolling my eyes.
A few people laughed hearing what I said
"What was that supposed to be? A pep talk" Peter said out loud also rolling his eyes

"Look I'm sure this'll be a real bonding experience, maybe one day one of you will even write a book about it in jail" he said while staring us all down

Everyone started saying things over one another in annoyance -
'Bombay' cut us off by talking

"Is there a goalie?"
"Only for a little while ,I'm moving back to Philly" Goldberg answered sharing more information than needed.
"Thank you for sharing that" Bombay joked around
"No problem" Goldberg replied not realising he was getting the mick taken out of him.
"Now get on the ice and show me what you can do" he dismissed us.

While most of the team went skating on the ice, averman went over and warned him that we sucked. Bombay brushed it off not believing lester.

Oh boy, just wait till you see us play.

The rest of 'training' went by pretty fast, having to end early due to Charlie's mum storming up to the children filled limo , which was still parked on the ice.
Miss Conway was shouting at the snob, accusing him of putting Charlie's life in danger. As everyone stood watching it unfold I couldn't help snicker under my breath at this grown man getting told off like a child.

I got home exhausted and as soon as I had told my parents about 'coach Bombay' and what had happened, I headed up to bed .
As soon as my head hit the pillow I fell into a deep sleep.
