The Beginning of it all (1978)

Hi my name is Sarah smith.
I live in Washington DC with my dad, mom and younger brother and we're currently in the 20th century or roughly 1978

At first everything was normal till three weeks ago we heard news about some hikers who were stuck on a mountain so they despised to go into a den which apparently had a type of bay that was said to be extinct but it turns out they were just in hibernation till those hikers went in and disturbed them.

Now we have to follow rules every time when the night falls and they are
1.turn of all lights in your house
2. No use of electricity
4. No talking or whispering
5.no sounds
6. Shut the curtains and lock everything
7.do not go outside
8. Do not answer the door
9.stay together
10.DO NOT OPEN ANYTHING
They may seem very strict and they are
As if you do not follow the bats will eat you alive and screaming won't help as that would bring more and more of them.

You can't even leave the country as they migrated everywhere except west Asia, Australia and Africa as the climates there are too humid and dry for the bats to survive and the arctic and Antarctic as it is too cold for their skin and they would freeze to death but it's not like you can leave as any way of transport makes a sound, even walking
That's why the government is sending people protected by a special bodysuit to give out food to everyone weekly as to keep them in their house.

Now my family is smart and we knew that even if we tried to escape they would still reach us which is why we decided to abide by the rules.
Anyways nightfall hath come and so hath the bats, we had already gone through this several times so we already knew what to do, we had secured the house and we all went and gathered in the living room just sitting in silence some of us sleeping when we suddenly heard a knock on the door....................
