San shared the story with Winter as they tidied up Mina's toy room, recounting the unexpected encounter with Wooyoung at the liquor store and how he ended up paying for San's drink.

"Do you think he's messing with you?" Winter questioned, straightening up a Barbie doll, her words cutting through the cluttered room.

San's brow creased in a frown. He hadn't considered that angle, and oddly he didn't want to. But with Wooyoung's history of being self-absorbed, it was hard to be sure of his intentions. This could be another moment of wooyoung trying to use San since it's convenient to him.

"Right, you're right," San murmured under his breath, his voice barely rising above a whisper. Despite the years stretching between them, the scars of betrayal from someone incapable of love still lingered. A firm resolve hardened in San's tone as he declared, "I refuse to let him re-enter my life."

"But," Winter began, straightening up as she grasped the final toy, her silhouette framed by the doorway, "that scholarship... a full ride to America?"

The thought struck a nerve in San. "You can't seriously consider sending my little girl to America alone," he protested, the word 'my' heavy with protective instinct. Winter met his gaze, a flicker of guilt passing over her features. "She's only five, for crying out loud. Who will she have?"

"I'm sorry, I just want what's best for her!" Winter's defense came swiftly, a sweet smile playing on her lips, trying to soften the edge of the conversation. San wasn't convinced and rolled his eyes in response.

"No, let's wait for the Seoul version to launch," San suggested, but Winter released a frustrated huff.

"I've already set up a meeting with that Haknyeon guy to see what it's all about," she admitted.

"Why didn't you tell me?" San's irritation was clear; he disliked Winter making unilateral decisions about Mina. Sure, he wasn't her biological father, but his name was on the birth certificate, symbolizing his commitment. "I did it this morning," she added quickly. "I haven't said yes to anything, but I'm considering it. Let's at least let her try the summer course."

San remained silent, weighing the options, and Winter embraced him. "Don't be mad. It's just to gather information, I promise. I won't agree to anything without you."

"Fine," San huffed out, his annoyance still simmering just below the surface. It was then that their daughter's voice cut through the tension, "Oooo, Mommy and Daddy are hugging!" The innocent observation drew a frantic "What!" from someone nearby.

San glanced down at Winter, a teasing sparkle in his eyes, "Is Jeno here?" he laughed.

Winter's cheeks flushed a warm pink, "So what if he is? I have needs," she murmured, breaking away from the hug. Their laughter mingled as Jeno strolled in, shirtless with sweatpants hanging low on his hips, scooping up Mina with a smile and greets san,"Oh you're here, im going to give her breakfast." Jeno smiles and takes mina away.

San watched them go, an amused chuckle escaping him. "He's so awkward around me," he observed with a shake of his head, then quipped with a teasing lilt, "He does know that I'm sooo not interested in you, right?"

Winter's response was a snort, playful and knowing, "Of course, he does. Besides, you aren't my type," she retorted, her words laced with the comfort of their long-standing friendship.

Rolling his eyes at her comment, San's laughter followed them out of the toy room, their playful banter a testament to the depth of their bond.

As Jeno focused on the art of breakfast, skillfully creating a whimsical design atop Mina's pancake, Winter leaned in, her voice adopting a saccharine, childlike pitch, "Daddy Jeno, can you make a design on my pancake too?" San cringed, his face contorting with a mix of amusement and secondhand embarrassment at her overt and somewhat clumsy flirtation.
