"This is exactly why we need to leave early, you people make us late." Shaking my head I let out a huff as I watch my five year old cross her arms and put on a pouty face. She had the attitude of myself, I can't tell if that's a good or bad thing, but she looks just like her father, ice blonde hair and cold blue eyes.
My little boy on the other hand he was my twin with milk chocolate hair and soft blue eyes.
"Mommy! Mommy!" Little pitter patters followed with a little brown haired boy being chased, his little legs pumping as his arms are swinging in every direction. Getting closer he pushes past his sister and hides directly behind my legs, his little hands gripping them with all his strength.
"Mommy save me!" His words coming out with his short fast breaths he's taking. Looking at the assailant, I roll my eyes, bending down I pick him up and put his on my hip, pressing my lips to his forehead I console the child. "Mamas got you, the scary man won't hurt you." Giggling as I see the man's face change from one of exhaustion to fake hurt.
Of course the little girl beside me had to open her mouth. "Daddy's not scary, you're scarier when you're mad. Daddy couldn't hurt a fly." Hearing her father huff out a laugh but quickly put a stop to it when he sees my glare aimed at him, I quickly aim my glare to the little girl who ran to her dad when she saw it. Picking her up and putting her on his hip she hid her face in his neck as a way to not face the anger.
Rubbing my eyes I turn and start walking towards the door, grabbing my water bottle and keys and handing them to my son while the other two follow. "I swear I can sell you guys for a fortune on eBay or something."
Feeling eyes on me I turn and see my son staring at me, leaning in he asks "you wouldn't sell me would you mommy?" Opening the door and stepping out I start walking to the car. "Of course I wouldn't honey, who would help me with my gardening." Leaning in I whisper to him, "only your dad and sister." Leaning back we both giggle yet when we turn back the others have faces which are less than amused.
Opening the rear drivers side door I place my son in his car seat buckling him up and giving him his book to keep him occupied, while their dad does the same to my daughter on the opposite side, except instead of a book it's a Barbie doll with a pink sparkly purse.
Getting in and starting the car, the trip is silent, only the sound of the quite music playing from the radio is heard, feeling a hand on my arm I extend it, gripping the hand that followed. Turing my head I shared a short loving look with my lover, I can still remember the first time I saw him, he had his signature frown on his face and a white bandana on his shaved head, looking like a different version of Eminem.
Looking back at the road I think back to our first conversations, how hard it was to actually find the time to talk to each other, always getting caught up in work and family events, I can't say I never had doubts because I had plenty, but he was always there to help me through them and reassure me that everything would work out.Slowing down we arrived at our destination, turning into the driveway we were met with a long stone road leading to a big almost mansion like house with two cars parked out front, no doubt there were more stored in the garage.
Shutting off the car we both exit, going to the back doors and grabbing our respective kids we walk up the stone steps towards the door, ringing the door bell we hear light chatter and footsteps coming towards us. The door opens and we're met with a familiar smiling face, stepping aside he lets us in but not before letting the household who had just arrived.
"Girls! Come down here! Lani and Kimi are here!"
