Suna was lying in bed straight as a corpse, eyes glued to the ceiling, lamenting the huge lapse in her judgment she had earlier with Abidin. Her weakness tortured her. This will be her downfall.

She was a like moth to a flame. Her weakness will set her on fire. How could she let herself be so vulnerable. How could she not be over him by now when he left her with nothing but a trail of empty promises.

"Suna!" Kaya barges into their room tearing her away from her thoughts.

Startled, Suna tensely sits up straight.

That's it. The end of her short lived marriage. Again she didn't get her happily ever after. But this time it's is all on her. Damned be her brain.

"Kaya?" She says worried.

"Get ready we're leaving now" he says matter of fact

"Halis is sending me to London. He needs me to do damage control on last nights' fiasco with the foreign partners and you're coming with me!" he says walking around their room.

"Are you sure?" She questions hesitantly.

"Yes" He says like it's the most obvious thing. "I need you with me there" he says as he sits across the bed from her.

"Need me! What for?" Suna asks

"Call it moral support. Call it whatever you want but you're coming" he says grabbing hands in his, gently brushing her knuckles.

"I am not needed there" she says questioning. Why would he need her? What for? Plus she cannot face Kaya with all of that guilt on her shoulders. She cannot even face herself. But she cannot stay in the palace and be faced with her mistake any time she steps out of their room.

"This is a huge step in our plan I need you there with me and" he says while walking around the room.

"You want to say something else, don't you?"

"No, nothing."

"Kaya, spit it out!" She waits for his answer

"Alright! I don't trust you around Pelin, Suna. I just know the second I turn my head you're reaching for her neck. Again." He bursts

"Kaya!" She yells angrily.

"Kaya what! Tell me I'm wrong" he says trying to reason with her.

"Tell me why you care!" Her tone accusatory.

"This is about our plan, Suna" he says bending to get to her eye level.
"Her, I couldn't care less" he shrugs.

"Okay," sighs Suna "God, I believe you"

"Suna, think of it as our honeymoon that we didn't get to go on." He pleads.

This came at the right time. This will be an opportunity for her to explore her feelings towards her husband. Away from Seyran's disapproval. Away from Ferit's projection. Most importantly, away from Abidin's attempts to exploit the feelings she had for him at her most vulnerable moments.

Kaya has been the one fighting for their relationship. The only one fighting for them. Now it's her turn to take a step in making their marriage work.

"Unfortunately this is a work trip and Latif bey is coming with to introduce me to the partners and assist with a few events the company will be hosting." He says defeated as he pulls her into his arms.

"Offf! Nothing but headaches with this family." she says with a heavy sigh leaning into his embrace.

"I know perim." He hugs tighter "But we need to do this for Halis to trust me with the company." He kisses the top of her head.

He lifts his hands to encircle her face with a glint in his eyes "Then and only then we can reclaim the life that's been stolen from me and bring this family down for what they did to you in Antep."

This time she hugs him. He always had her back. Since day one. Fighting for her. Protecting her. Giving her the strength to fight her battles.

Her apprehension to give into her feelings for Kaya again was purely out of self sabotage and not self preservation.

If only she did not play into Nükhet's plan. If only Suna did not let her curiosity get the best of her.
If only she stood her ground, she would've never overheard Kaya's soul-crushing words about her.

She stopped her self from getting carried away with these thoughts. Kaya was trying to protect her from his mother's wrath. Nükhet played them like a fiddle.

"Is Ferit coming with us?" she asks hoping Kaya wouldn't catch on that she wants to know if Abidin will be dropping them off to the airport since Abidin and Ferit are attached at the hip. She did not want to see his face again at least not tonight.

"No Halis insisted that Ferit has to take care of the mess here..." He pauses realising what escaped his lips...after all the mess here is Seyran.

"Ugh! Kaya" She scolds him. She still has love for her sister despite everything.

"Pardon" he corrects himself "And in typical Ferit fashion, he throws a tantrum"

"Of course!" Suna says, rolling her eyes.

"I barely held myself back from laughing" Suna, still in Kaya's warm embrace scoffs at him.

"Ugh! You're so childish" she says unable to hold her laugher.

"Me? childish?" Kaya pulls away from her, looking at her with an intense expression.

Suna's face drops and proceeds to frantically apologise "Oh my god! I'm sorry! I didn't mean to offend-" Kaya's loud laugh stops her in her tracks. He was teasing her and enjoying it.

"Suna! You should've seen your face!" He says in between laughs.

Suna hides her face in her palms. She fell for his teasing. How embarrassing!

He reaches for her hands taking in his hands "Suna, my love, I'm sorry. I could not just let an opportunity like that slide"

"Shut up" Suna says grabbing a pillow to throw at Kaya.

"Now who is being a child?" Kaya challenges jokingly.

"Still you!" She says firmly.

"Well can you please hurry up and get ready? I just need to go grab a few files before we leave" He says as he reaches for the door handle "pack light" the door shuts behind him.
