I sat up, adrenaline pumping. The nightmare was still vivid in my mind.
"Ugh, Raina, calm down," I muttered, rubbing my eyes. My line of sight landed on the dresser across from my bed, and even more so, the plush doll sitting on it.
It didn't scare me that there was a doll I had never seen on my dresser, but it did scare me that it looked like the doll from my nightmare. Gathering all the courage I had, I got up and crept towards it. The doll's button eyes stared back.
Quickly, I poked it. Then again. I let out a sigh of relief. It was just a dumb coincidence. I turned to go back to bed when I heard movement behind me. Quickly, I spun around. Nothing had moved. I backed up and got into bed.
Just as I began to drift into sleep, I heard childish laughter followed by a nursery rhyme.
London bridge is falling down, falling down, falling down! London bridge is falling down, my dear lady.
