Chapter 9 |:| Recovery!

Bakuhashi pov

When i finally awoke, it was to bright hospital lights and the hum of an old building. Wiping the tiredness from my eyes, there was a dull aching in my arm, where an IV happily made its home.

"Damn..."

My voice came out scratched and cracky, i mustve been out for hours.

Coming to a sitting position, all the places on my body that had been damaged made themselves painfully known, my back and my shoulder was the worst of it.

Taking in the scene, there was warm afternoon sunlight coming through the window, piercing the thin curtains, on the table were a few store bought 'get well soon!' Cards surrounding a vase of flowers and a few small bags of candy or chocolates.

"How embarrassing..." i cringed, now everybodys going to think of me as the 'sickly girl that succumbed to the dastardly villain'.

However, a head of spikey, red hair drew my attention. Kirishima was sitting in a chair, with his head cushioned by his arms on the side of my bed. His mouth was parted, revealing his pointy white teeth and a small drip of drool crept its way out of his mouth.

With a chuckle, i poked his cheek. "Wakey wakey, shark face" i teased.

His eyes blinked open tiredly, before he shot up straight. "Bakuhashi! Youre awake! Oh man am i relieved." He let out a breath.

I tipped my head to the side, "Of course im awake, im surprised that im even in the hospital right now"

"Well...you got hurt pretty bad...they wouldnt tell me much details but they gave me the basics. Bruised spine and a dislocated shoulder, and of course a few scrapes and scratches." He shrugged.

"And they kept me here?!" I gawked, "Why wouldnt they send me home....? I wouldve been on my feet within a few hours." I muttered.

"Because of your mom right? And her quirk?" He grinned.

"Yeah- wait, how did you know that? did she come?" I asked curiously.

"Oh she tried" Kirishima winced, yknow she seems like a sweet woman but man was she tearing into those nurses and doctors. They wouldnt let her in because its against the law for people to use their healing quirks on the unconscious—unless of course theyre employed at the hospital. She was not happy about that" he chuckled. "I see where you get your fire"

"Hah, no shes nothing compared to my dad, the doctors got seriously lucky that he didnt show up" i shuttered. "Anywho, im happy to see you, but honestly, im surprised. I thought that it would be Alyce sleeping on my bedside."

"Oh! She was in here a few hours ago, buuut i think i made her uncomfortable or something, because almost as soon as i showed up, she left."

"Sounds like Alyce" i laughed.

"As for the reason that im here...well...i dont know. I guess i just felt..." he looked away, "Guilty..."

"Guilty?"

"Yeah...when we were all hiding in that bush...watching Aizawa and Thirteen get totally busted up, i wanted to do something, i really did! But i just...froze. But then you jumped in, and you set off such a massive attack so quickly!"

I sighed, "Yeah...an attack that did absolutely nothing"

"What? What are you talking about? You saved Aizawa."

"Huh?"

"If you didnt step in when you did, he would be toast! You pulled attention away from Aizawa and then All Might swooped in to finish the job!" He praised, sparkling with excitement like a kid who had just watched the best action movie.
