Alyce pov

As soon as the bell dismissed me from my last class i whisked out the school and rushed to the nearest bus stop, hopping on and making my way to Madi's fathers agency. It was a route that i knew well and luckily the busses are relatively quick.

I'd been to the building so many times that the front desk and security no longer bothered to ask if i had an appointment with Demolition, they simply let me through. Memories of running down the cold granite hallways, chasing Madi and playing hide and seek, getting scolded for playing in a place of work. All of it circled in my mind as i tapped my foot impatiently, waiting for the elevator to reach the 'recreation' floor. It was one under the top floor and labeled as recreation seeing as how it held no real purpose, this is where Madis bedroom was as well as her dads suite. They both used it as a 'home away from home' however since enrolling in U.A high, Madi rarely visited. Other than that, the rooms on this floor were used mostly for storage.

"Madi?" I called, inputting the pin to the the lock, which i knew off by heart, on her door and pushing it open.

She was flopped over her bed with her phone in her hands, scrolling through instagram. She was exhausted and it showed. Evening light filtered through her wide, perfectly clear window, casting warmth onto the large bed, she layed right in the centre of the sunspot, soaking up every ounce of heat.

"Hey..." she sighed.

I dropped my bag on the ground and came to sit beside her, sinking in to the plush linens. "So what really happened anyway? I read everything you sent me and it sounds like a real mess but also just- what?! How can it be okay for a teacher to say those things to a student? And also, how can it be okay for the schoolboard to have a conference about those things and not even talk to your parents about it?!"

"I think its because of who my parents are" she groaned, staring at the ceiling. "Nobody wants to deal with their crap, they like to stir stuff up."

"Yeah..." i murmered, "What are you going to do?"

"Nothing"

"Nothing? Madi surely something needs to be done, i cant believe that All Might said those things, he shouldnt be allowed to get away with it! And you definitely shouldnt be forced to be his intern!"

"I know" a slow smile made its way on to her face

"So- so what are you going to to?!" I questioned, fists clenching, feeling second hand frustration for her.

Her smile uplifted into a grin and she turned her head to look at me, "Im going to do nothing. All Mights already upstairs "

I froze. "Hes...upstairs..." i repeated slowly, she snickered mischievously in response, i knew all too well what lie upstairs. Reikans office. I was never allowed to go in there, the only people who've seen it are Reikan himself, his family and very important clients who'd organized meetings with him. Knowing Reikans temper...the ferocity that he displayed just to prove a simple point...surely this wouldnt go well.

Madi always said that the reason her father was willing to do things like bullying her teachers was because he cared for her, but from an outside perspective, that possibility seemed slim. I've watched him work and i've seen first hand how he carries himself. That man cares about nothing more than winning. Having his daughter deemed a 'threat' was like deeming him a threat. Anything the schoolboard tried to do with Madi, such as expell her for endangering everybody at the sports festival would be a declaration of war with Reikan. I bet thats why not even Madi knew about her bad position with them, they were trying to keep it quiet so this exact situation wouldnt happen.
