San and Wooyoung sat next to each other on the school benches outside, watching a group of people play soccer not caring about the world. To Wooyoung it felt like he hadn't seen San in years and San had been counting down the days working non-stop to get off the hook his Wooyoung. It was close to finals so Wooyoung was under a lot more stress than usual which made San want to be there for him more.

"You punched back?" Wooyoung asked, having a bite of the ice cream San had bought for him. Wooyoung smiled thinking about how Seonghwa had gotten him snacks to cheer him up, wondering how he should thank the other. He'd still be bummed out if San wasn't with him though.

"No. I dodged it and walked away but he got more bold. He grabbed a bat and came at me-" San said, raising his ice cream to mimic the movement. Ugh, he hated that guy. "And then I punched back," San said, Wooyoung sighing. He threw his arm over San's shoulder pulling him in for a side hug. Ever since the last fight where San promised he wouldn't fight back unless it was absolutely necessary, San's attendance went up and it was clear that it was a case of self defense this time.

"Do you think they'll leave you alone if I walk you home?" Wooyoung asked, San shaking his head no, watching the team score a goal. Honestly, he wouldn't pass up on the chance to have Wooyoung walk him home to spend more time with the other. But he might get dragged into a fight and that's something that San didn't want. Then they would just invite more people to fight the both of them.

"Do you want to be my bodyguard?" San asked playfully, looking at Wooyoung, then back at the game. "Yes," Wooyoung said, San whipping his head around. Years of friendship and he still wasn't used to Wooyoung's bluntness. San threw an imaginary air punch, Wooyoung blocking it without even looking, holding his ice cream between his lips. Wooyoung looked into San's eyes, not letting go of San's fist. San looked at the ice cream then into Wooyoung's eyes, pinching Wooyoung to make him let go.

"Ouch," Wooyoung said, saving his ice cream while holding the place where San pinched him. At least the ice cream was safe. "You have classes," San said, determined to finish his ice cream before class started. They couldn't have food in the class let alone something that could melt and create an entire mess.

"Your house is on the way," Wooyoung said, hugging San closer. Wooyoung finished his ice cream, setting the wooden part down beside him. It would be hard to get San to agree to his request, but given he still felt bad about making him sad -

"A week," San said, making the other smile. Wooyoung tackled San to the ground to hug him, San moving his ice cream so it wouldn't ruin Wooyoung's uniform. He used his other arm to keep Wooyoung from falling, protecting Wooyoung's head the best he could.

"I missed you," Wooyoung said, hugging the life out of him. San smiled, his smile falling when he felt the pain. "My ribs - Wooyoung," San said, Wooyoung crushing him on purpose. He did not cry for days to not get his revenge. "You promised," Wooyoung asked, San nodding his head. "Yes, please - I need air," San said, Wooyoung getting up. Wooyoung put his arms on either side of San, trapping the other under him.

San looked up at Wooyoung, blinking quickly when the other didn't get up. "Wooyoung," San called out, Wooyoung looking into his eyes. San felt his heart skip a beat and then felt his ribs getting crushed when Wooyoung fell on top of him to give him one last hug. Semi-romantic moment turned deadly.

"It's lunch time soon we should go," Wooyoung said, standing up. San lay down letting air fill his lungs, missing Wooyoung. He really should pay someone next time to take the blame for him. Wooyoung held out his hand for San to take, San grabbing it and sitting up on the bench.

It was always like that. San would get into trouble, they'd talk about how it happened, then go on about their day like none of it happened. San smiled, looking at Wooyoung who started to walk back to class. It only took two steps for Wooyoung to realize San wasn't with him, turning around.
