Y/n's pov

We ran after the blue haired boy, leading us to an alley. He put his hand in front of a place where reads 'no entry', and opens it. We ran down a flight of stairs and into a room full of jars, fish and pigs, reminding me of my parents. We then ran to the tall building we saw earlier. When we were near the bridge that would lead us to the Japanese onsen hotel, the blue haired boy told us, "Hold your breath while we're on the bridge. Even a tiny breath will break the spell and the attendants will see you." He then held my hand, with Chihiro clinging onto his arm. For some reason, I felt as if butterflies corrupted in my stomach. His hand was very soft and smooth.

"I'm scared," Chihiro said. "Be calm," I replied.

"Welcome. Always nice to see you," two frogs at the entrance greeted.

"I'm back from my task," the boy said. "Welcome back, sir," the frogs greeted. 'What task and why are they calling him 'sir'?' I wondered.

"Ah, welcome, my lady. It has been so long since we have seen you," they greeted. I looked around, but saw no one greeting them back. I then pointed to myself, as if saying,"me?"

However, the frogs laughed. "As humorous as always, my lady. Of course it's you!" I was dumbfounded. How do they know me? Before I could reply, the boy dragged me away.

"A deep breath..." he said as Chihiro took one,"and hold." She covered her nose. I did the same, but the boy stopped me. "You're already a spirit, so you don't have to." Me? A spirit? I was a human the last time I checked.

When we were halfway across, a spirit with what seemed like a mask passed us. He seemed quite eerie, but it's probably just normal in the spiritual world.

"Welcome back! We missed you!" some spirits greeted. "Hang on Chihiro. We're almost..." I said but was interrupted by a frog running towards us, yelling,"Master Haku! Lady Y/n!" Again, how does he know me?

He then jumped in front of us. "Where have you-" Chihiro has always been scared of frogs, so she gasped. The frog immediately stopped. "Wha...a human." Before the frog can attack Chihiro, the boy, now known as Haku, put him in a black dome. "Run," Haku said, pulling us through the crowd, creating a wind with his speed.

While the spirits are distracted, Haku led us to a small trapdoor. He opened it while we crawled inside. He then quickly closed it. The frog immediately fell to the ground, in a daze.

He then dragged us to a garden and behind some bushes. "Master Haku!" Spirits inside the building yelled frantically, looking for him. "Chase after it. A human intruder," another spirit ordered. "I smell humans! The stench of humans!" A spirit complained. "Not only that, but Lady Y/n came back!" "Yeah! I missed her kindness towards us!" "She's hot, too-" a smack was heard. I cringed at that.

"They know you're here," Haku said to Chihiro. "I'm sorry, I took a breath," Chihiro apologised. I patted her head. "No Chihiro. You did very well." I then gave a smile to her. I don't know if my eyes are playing tricks on me but I think I saw Haku blush.

Haku then turns serious. "Listen and I'll tell you what to do. Stay here, and they'll find you. I'll distract them. In the meantime, you escape with Y/n."

Immediately, Chihiro clinger onto him, begging him to stay with her. "No, don't go! Stay with me, please."

Haku looks at me, and I gave him an apologetic smile. He turned back to Chihiro and held both her hands. "You have no choice if you want to survive here. And save your parents, too."

Chihiro backed away. "So they did turn into pig...I wasn't dreaming..." she said with tears in her eyes. Haku placed a hand on her forehead, while I stand awkwardly. His fingers then glow pink.

"When things quiet down, go out by the back gate," Haku said as things started to visualise in Chihiro's head. It showed a flight of stairs. "Take the stairs, all the way down. Until you reach the boiler room, where they stoke the fires." A room with steam around it is shown. "Kamaji's there, so look for him. Ask him for work." Haku finally removed his fingers from her forehead.

"Kamaji?" I said as the old man's name rolled out of my tongue. He sounded familiar. "Even if he refuses, insist," Haku ordered. "If you don't work, Yubaba will turn you into an animal."

"Yubaba," I muttered.

"You'll see. She's the sorceress who rules our world. Kamaji will turn you away, trick you into leaving, but keep on asking him for work. It will be hard work, but it will give you a chance." Chihiro cringed. "Then even Yubaba can't harm you."

"Ok," Chihiro said while I nodded.

"Master Haku!" The spirits yelled. Haku turned his head. "I have to go," he said. He let go of Chihiro's hands and held mine. "Remember, Chihiro, Y/n, I'm your friend. Y/n, please take care of her. I'm counting on you for it."

He then gave me a charming, soft smile. I gave one back, and pulled him into a hug. We stayed like that for a few seconds and let go.

"Wait," Chihiro said. "How do you know my name?" She asked. Haku looked at her. "I've known you since you were small."

I was confused. Why didn't I remember him?

"My name is Haku." He turned away, getting inside the house.

"Here I am!" He yelled.

'Haku,' I thought. 'What a beautiful name.'
