Meeting of Yubaba

Lin, Chihiro and I started walking towards Yubaba's office. "Yubaba lives way up the top, in the back," Lin informed. We passed underground tunnels sneakily, hoping we don't get caught.

We all stopped in our tracks. In front of us were many tall elevators, making us stare in awe.

"Get over here," Lin called. We immediately ran towards Lin, who was standing in an elevator. When Lin pulled down the lever, it zoomed up.

Chihiro stared out the elevator, her head sticking out. "You wanna lose your nose?" Chihiro immediately stepped back, and I let out a small chuckle.

The elevator continued going up, until it stopped at a random floor. Many spirits were packing food, delivering them to their customers. One spirit had walked out of a lift holding two bowls of food, and Lin took the chance to sneak inside it, us immediately following. The lift went up again. Chihiro and I peered out of the lift, but saw only blurry images. (It was the mist of the bathhouse if you don't know)

Suddenly, we stopped. A huge radish spirit was standing in front of the elevator. Lin immediately smiled awkwardly, as she tried to hide Chihiro behind her. "W-welcome," Lin said, stuttering. The radish spirit seemed as if it wanted to get in the elevator, but Lin pretended as if it was not in service. Lin then walked away, pretending as if nothing had happened.

Chihiro hid behind her, as I walked beside Lin. Unknowingly, the spirit was following us. I looked down from the edge. There were many spirits enjoying their baths, with workers helping them scrub their bodies. The customers looked very relaxed.

Chihiro looked back. "He's following us," she gasped. However, Lin ignored her. We stopped in front of an elevator which read 'Up'. Lin pressed a button, waiting for the lift. The radish spirit stood next to her. When the lift opened, a frog spirit was leading other customers to the their room. Lin immediately covered Chihiro. Seeing this, I couldn't help but think of Haku. He did the same to Chihiro, and I was a bit jealous. Even though I know it was necessary, they always had close contact with each other.

Suddenly, the frog spirit turned back to us. He first bowed at me, then changed his attention to Lin.

"Lin," he said. "Yes?" Lin yelled as she pushed Chihiro inside the lift. The radish spirit and I also went inside.

"What's that smell?" The frog spirit sniffed Lin. "It's human. You reek of human." However, Lin stood calm. "Is that so?" She crossed her arms. "I smell it, I do. Smells slightly tasty, too," the frog spirit was starting to get suspicious. "You're hiding something," he decided. "Tell me the truth, now!" He yelled.

Lin calmly took out the roasted newt Kamaji gave her. "This smell," she declared. The frog immediately tried to grab it. However, Lin dodged it. She dangled it in front of him, taunting him. "I'm begging you, I'll settle for a leg," the frog begged. "Anyone going up, pull down on the lever," Lin called. Chihiro squeezed from behind the radish spirit and pulled the lever. When the door closed, Lin immediately ate the newt.

While the elevator was going up, Chihiro and I squeezed in between the radish spirit. Suddenly, the lift opened at a floor named 'Second Sky'. I realised what the spirit was trying to do. He was trying to see which floor we were going to. "Not this floor, thank you," I said politely.

The ride was awkward. No one talked or made eye contact. Finally, we stopped at a floor called 'Sky'. It was dark, and Chihiro and I walked out. We saw two red doors with lamps lighting them up. We looked at the radish as it bowed. We bowed back and it went down the lift.

Chihiro and I began walking towards the doors. The background was eerie, and Chihiro clung onto my arm. We walked towards the door on the right. Chihiro immediately tried to open the door as I tried to stop her. Suddenly, a gold figure on the door yelled, "Not going to knock?" Which scared both of us as we let out a yelp. "What a pathetic little girl."
