The next morning, sunlight pierced through my window, intensifying the throbbing in my head from last night's revelry. I groaned, pulling the blanket over my face, only to be interrupted by a knock. "Yeah?" I mumbled, the door opened, revealing a tired Sarah. I sat up as she entered.

"Hey," she greeted, taking a seat on my bed, mirroring my weariness. "My head is pounding," I confessed, and she chuckled. "Mine too," her smile faded. "About last night... Topper—" I interrupted, "Let's just not talk about it, okay?" She nodded understandingly. I intended to visit the injured Pogue later, feeling a bit of guilt. "Alright, I'm gonna make some hangover soup," Sarah announced, standing up and heading towards my door.

Heading to the Cut, I traced my memory to find John B's place, the usual meeting spot for everyone. As I reached his house, I found them all on the porch. "What the hell are you doing here?" Kiara's voice cut through. "Just making sure everyone's okay," I explained, scanning the faces. John B had a black eye. "Yeah, we're fine," Kiara responded with a dismissive eye roll. "Kie, lighten up," JJ chimed in, redirecting his attention to me.

"Is there anything I can do?" I know I don't like Topper but my sister is dating him which also makes me responsible for his dumb actions. "Why do you care?" John B said. His tone wasn't rude, nor was it nice. "I feel bad... I personally don't like Topper but I know you all associate all Kooks the same way" I rambled, not realizing that what I said was offensive, which their reactions showed. "Sorry" I closed my eyes and sighed, putting a palm to my forehead. "It's okay" JJ said which made me look at him. He was smiling at me. His eyes were soft which made me feel more comfortable and relaxed.

"Want a beer?" John B offered and before I could agreed Kiara stepped in. "Uh.. John B can I talk to you.. alone?!" She said standing up and pulling him away before he could react. Once they were out of sight I turned to Pope and JJ. "She doesn't like me" I chimed which made them laugh. "Yeah.. what did you do to her?" Pope said but I shrugged.

I don't think I owe them any explanation. Plus I don't exactly know why Kiara doesn't like me.
Soon enough later her and John B came back. Her expression was still the same and John B looked away from my gaze. I rolled my eyes as they approached. "I think it's best if you leave" John B said in a low tone. I sighed. "Planned on it anyways. I looked to Pope and JJ. "See you later" I hoped that pissed off Kiara. They both nodded slightly and I glared at Kiara before walking away.

"KIARA IS SUCH A BITCH!!" I've been rambling to Sarah for a good 15 minutes now. The encounter really pissed me off. Sarah nods and she just sat back listening. "What even happened with you guys? Why am I the one being yelled at by her because of your argument with her?!" I was now yelling at Sarah which caught her off guard. "Look I don't know why you're blaming me-" "BECAUSE YOU ARE THE REASON I CAN'T EVEN HAVE A SINGLE CONVERSATION WITH THE POGUES!" She now yelled back. "DON'T BLAME ME BECAUSE YOU CAN'T LAY THAT POGUE JJ" I was baffled. "EXCUSE ME?!" We now were arguing till I heard a voice. "Hey! Hey! What is going on?!" It was Rose. "SARAH RUINING EVERYTHING AS USUAL!" I yelled and Sarah rolled her eyes, crossing her arms. "Okay you need to chill out" Rose said and I sighed. "You don't have to interfere with everything" Sarah said and I rolled my eyes. "And you don't have to be such a bitch to her all the time" I personally like Rose. The rest of the kids don't but she isn't so bad.

I explained everything to her and finally, me and Sarah calmed down. I'd talk to the Pogues tomorrow and hopefully, settle everything.
