Becky's P.O.V

Finally I was home at last. Safe and sound, for now at least. You see my parents are alcoholics and are never sober. The thing is that when they're drunk they get violent and angered about every little thing. I wouldn't mind this but they decide to take it out on none other than me.

It wasn't bad at first, just verbally but they'd gradually get worse. They started adding in the odd punch, kick or hit but now that's all they do. I suppose I've gotten used to it, got numb to the pain but it still affects me mentally. It's left scars and numerous bruises all over my body so I normally just wear jumpers and jeans all year round, yeah I get hot but I'd rather that than have people questioning me.

You're probably thinking, why not just get police or social services involved? Trust me I've tried. Each time I do my parents get sober and clean up their act until its over. After that they go back to their old ways but they get even angrier at me because they almost got found out. That's why I just let them get on with it.

I was just about to do some revision due to it being exam season when I hears a high-pitched giggle from outside. Then someone was fumbling with the keys. They then cursed under their breath. That was definitely my parents. The door suddenly swung open and there they stood. Step-by-step they stumbled across the room towards me as if they were in slow motion, shouting things as they went. Dad threw the first hit, then mum shouted and hit me, then dad again and that's all I remember before it went black...
