"Wolf? Wolf—wake up."
I groaned and rolled over, burying my face into the pillow.
"Wolf—baby come on we're going to see my parents," Dove complained, shoving my shoulder.
I smiled into the pillow, "I've already seen them." I said into the pillow.
She huffed, "Real funny smartass, let's go." she gave me another shove.
"What do I get out of this?" I asked, not lifting my head. Dove sighed. I felt her climb onto the bed and come to sit next to me.
"You get to see me," she stated. I knew she was smiling, I could hear it.
"I see you all the time," I said, laughing when she slapped my arm.
"Fine, I'll just go by myself then." she huffed, slipping from the bed.
Knowing she was moving away from me made me panic and want to spring up and follow after her, but something told me if I opened my eyes, she wouldn't be there.
"You know you'll miss me when I'm gone," she said moving further away.
"How can I miss you when you're always with me?" I said softly.
I felt her move back towards me, "How is that?" she asked, "How am I always with you?"
"You're all the good that's inside of me. You're in my heart. You've carved out a piece of me and replaced it with you, so I'm not me without you. That's how you're always with me." I explained.
Dove sniffed, "I love you."
"I love you too baby," I said, feeling her fingers run through my hair.
"You need to wake up," she said sadly, I shook my head no.
"You won't be here."
"You just said I'm always with you," she whispered.
"No."
"Wolf, you need to wake up." she echoed
I felt her slipping away again, "Don't leave me... not again."
"I love you..." her voice echoed. "I will always love you..."
