the sick kid

chapter 1

Walden walks up stairs to Ella's room and knocks on the door.
“Ella you awake?”
There was no answer.

Walden carefully opened Ella's door and found her asleep on her bed. He walked over to her bed and climbed on and cuddled her till she woke up.

“dad?” “Yeah?” “I feel nauseous.”
Walden sat up on the bed. “Do you need to puke?” “Not at the moment I just feel nauseous.”

“I have to leave for work soon, you need to be asleep by ten.” “ten? I'm not  twelve dad.” “It's either that or you crash after you take your medicine.” “I know I know.”

“I've got to go, I love you sweetie.” “I love you too.” Walden left Ella sat up and took her medicine. A few minutes later she got up and made a sandwich in the kitchen. She then sat down on the couch and watched TV as she ate.

A while later she wanted to see her dad, so she grabbed her bag and the house keys and started down the hall. She got in the elevator with a few people. They all seemed to work in the production line she could tell because of their uniforms.

The button for the floor she was going to was already pressed so she just waited. most of the people got off there was just Ella and a guy who looked to be in his late thirties early forties.“where's your mom kid? You look too young to work here.” he asked. “she died when I was three. I'm going to see my dad.” Ella responded.

“Damn…who's your dad? I might know him.” “He's your boss.” “I doubt that little girl.” “oh really you want to come meet him?” “Why not? Lead the way, little girl.” Ella rolled her eyes at his comment.
As they walked down the hall towards Walden's office the man started to get nervous. “you know that's Walden's office right?”

“Yep.” “I'm not testing him today. I believe you little girl, I'm going back to my station.” “Okay bye!” Ella opens the door to her dads office door. “What do you want?”

“Dad it's me.” “Oh hey Ella what are you doing out of the dorm without someone? You know the rules.” “I just wanted to hang out with you.” “...fine, sit on the couch and don't talk. I need to finish these documents.”  Ella walked over to the couch and sat down. A few hours pass and Ella is now asleep and wallden is almost done with his paperwork.

“Ella…Ella wake up.” she didn't so he got up and went over to her and gently shook her awake. “Ella sweetie wake up.” Ellie opened her eyes slightly and rubbed her eyes. “Come on Ellie.” Walden helped Ellie sit up. He then walked over to his desk and grabbed his papers. “You hungry?”

Ella didn't answer. “Ella?” Walden turns around and sees Ella starting to fall forward. “Shit shit shit.” Walden dropped his papers and ran towards Ellie. he laid her down then took off his coat and put it under her head. He checked the time then he just waited. After a few minutes later Ellie stopped seizing and Walden held her for a few minutes till she pulled away.

“Sorry dad.” “Don't you apologize. This is not your fault.” “Thank you…I love you” “I love you too.” Walden holds Ellie for a while.
