"Despues de la muerte"
(A tribute to Dr. Jose Protacio Mercado Rizal Alonzo y Realonda)
I see what you people do.
Cry no more for I am all with you.
All of these vile aliens will soon bid adieu.
You will soon have your freedom.
This, I promise. I truly do.
You alien foes should start to hide for now,
for what you did to me woke my fellowmen's inner ego.
I say to you, all of you are nothing but cowards.
You eliminated me. What wrong did I do? To my land i just stated a vow.
Funny it is to know that you think you're all gods in your skins that are all foul.
You killed me after greeting "Feliz Navidad".
And I was shot.
I was shot not because I did something bad.
I was shot because I wanted the Filipinos to see that you're all not doing the will of God.
I was shot but all I did was to write with a pen and a pad.
All I wanted to do was to make you all see what is right.
That a slave can't be a slave just by showing him your might.
That we are not slaves because of our flat nose, dark skin and short height.
I prayed that before I die, may you all understand why I write.
I waited for you to realize it until my last fight.
On that very day of the 30th of December,
I prayed with all my might.
"Heavenly father, por favor! take care of the Filipinos.
Yo ofrezco mi vida por ellos." But all of a sudden,
"Fuego!" and then I died.
